Actually, this is the damndest thing I ever saw. i didn't know if I should laugh or destroy it when I saw it. I snapped this photo with my cell at a Lids store in the mall (Montgomeryville?).

It would be one thing if the Mets had a generic color scheme like the Dodgers (straight blue and white). But I've got to think whoever authorized this knew exactly what he was doing.

Maybe I should've bought one as a curiosity. But at the time I think I decided it was spawn of the devil.

Good question. I'm wondering if in New York-area lids if they sold "NY" logo hats done in the Mets style, but in white embroidery on a bright red hat with little blue knobs on the top.

Also, I wonder why they decided to use the current Mets color scheme, but the retro Phillies logo. Is there any rhyme or reason to what they do?
