Lenny Dykstra's descent

Apparently Lenny also admitted to steroid use in that same book....

It's been awhile..But he's back with a new scam.

In another surprising turn, Dykstra says he’s launching a new company, predatorylendingrecovery.com, to help struggling homeowners stay in their houses. “We’re going to save people’s homes, I know how to do it,” he said.

“You [mess] with Nails, you get the hammer,” said Dykstra in an interview with Bankruptcy Beat. Dykstra’s nickname was “Nails” in his playing days.

Oh, Lenny

The former Phillies outfielder has been accused of giving a porn star/escort a $1,000 check that bounced, according to a report.

RadarOnline.com reported that Monica Foster claimed that Nails gave her the check in exchange for companionship on Dec. 13 in a hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif....

"I was hired strictly as his companion to have drinks and conversation," Foster wrote on her blog....

"He gave me a fake name when I met him, and eventually came clean as to who he was, because he wanted to seem impressive . . . ," Foster told RadarOnline.com in an interview. "If I had known who he was I wouldn't have gone with him. He is in so much financial trouble."

Foster explained further on her blog:

"The amount agreed upon PRIOR to meeting was not initially to be paid via a check and absolutely no illegal or sexual activity occurred . . .

Foster went on to explain on her blog that she went public so that other escorts won't be - you'll pardon the pun - nailed with bounced checks.

"Being that I most likely have little to no chance of ever recouping my losses from Lenny Dykstra I have decided to tell the truth about what happened . . . Lenny Dykstra WILL NOT EVER do this to another young woman if I can help it."

I heard he took money from his son's signing bonus as well.

Is Lenny still in line for the Phillies Wall of Fame?

Even if none of this had happened, I don't think he'd be a great candidate. Lenny essentilly played two complete seasons with the Phillies: 1990 and 1993 (and 1994, I suppose, if you count that strike-shortened season which he basically played all of). They were excellent seasons, but also Jim Eisenreich's career here was not that far off of Lenny's when you consider that he played 150 or less games, but managed to complete the seasons he played here. Lenny has a big edge in seasons played here over Eisenreich and ultimately in PAs, but the plain fact of the matter is that Dykstra was hurt too much. His 1991, 1992, 1995, and 1996 seasons were essentially destroyed by injuries.

Lenny Dykstra's career OPS+ as a Phillie: ~124 (doesn't count the last half of 1989). Eisenreich: 120.

OTOH, I saw an older episode of Law & Order the other day (from about 1990-1991) in which Dykstra was clearly referenced: at the beginning, two cops were talking about how the Mets "should never have traded that guy" and that "he damn near led the league in hitting last year in Philly."

All sorts of crazy goin' on heah. And what's with the Mitchie-pooh hate? Anyways, these conversations are chock full of signature worthy material if you're into that sort of thing.

Sheen on Dykstra:

Sheen: He's hardcore. And it's with a capital "C" (???????). There's a movie called Hardcore with George C. Scott. So, you can be hardcore and just be George Scott. You can be hardcore and then, you know, you get a lower case "c". My man is an upper case George C. Scott. Hardcore.

Dykstra: I don't want him to stop, and Charlie knows me. I don't really tell him what he wants to hear, I just tell him the truth.

Sheen: Which is why we love each other unconditionally and with violence. And you're one of the best dudes alive, Bro.

Do you remember that bald fool, Lenny, that came in with his therapy and his voodoo and he tried to judge me and he said I was too excited? The only thing I got excited about was catching the last drop of blood, just before his beheaded silly dome made contact with my beautiful wooden floor in my home in front of my children.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can
