My dad is a Giants fan, so I am a Giants fan. Moved to South Jersey when I was one, so all of my friends growing up were Eagles fans. Giants Eagles games were always a big deal. My Facebook feed this past month has been an unending string of Eagles crap. I hate the Eagles and hope they lose tomorrow.

My story is a little long, and a bit boring. But you asked. I grew up on the northern part of the Jersey shore. I was a Giants fan during the 70s, when they were stinky, and as a kid was a bigger football fan than a baseball fan. I was a lukewarm Yankee fan, but getting to either Yankee Stadium or Shea from that part of NJ was pretty tough. Getting to Giants stadium was a breeze by contrast. I went to several football games as a kid, but my first baseball game was at the Vet, because getting to the Vet really wasn't any tougher, and of course tickets were dirt cheap. The Yankees of the 70s and early 80s were of course good, but really unappealing. In 84, I started college in the Philadelphia area. Around that time, the unappealing Yankees started sucking. And I really began fall in love with Philly, staying there after college until I started grad school. So, while I could never quite give up rooting for the Giants, I decided if I was going to root for a sucky baseball team, it might as well be the Phillies. At least no one could accuse me of being a front runner.

XLVI's 6 year anniversary being Monday really lines up nicely for being a dick on Facebook if NE wins tomorrow.

Definitely wearing one of my super bowl champion t shirts tomorrow. And drinking beer from my super bowl champion beer mug.

Got to my parents place last night. So many trucks with Eagles flags and billboards and every fucking store has swag on sale and it's just awful.

I hate everything.

Went up to Philly to watch the NCAA games Fri night/Sat with high school friends. The host's 3 year old was attired in an Eagles LII t-shirt Saturday, and my buddy kept telling him to say fly Eagles fly and give me a high five because I was so excited about the Super Bowl.

It was effective trolling with a 3 year old.

I would mark myself down as still not thrilled this happened, and looking at the Eagles rings is not improving matters.

I like having Barkley on the giants, but I would consider shutiing him down to avoid wwar and tear. Also, I think it may be the case that benching Eli last year was the right call.
