I have the last post in all three forums at the moment, so would like to reiterate this brilliant insight after watching much of the Eagles game yesterday

HFA teams as home dogs should have hope! The number 1 seed New York Giants were 2-3 point underdogs at home in the NFC CG vs. Minnesota in the 2000 season. I was there. One of the most joyful days of my life.

Shame about how that Super Bowl turned out.

I'm pretty sure the Eagles aren't gonna win 41-0 tho.

Was at the division round against the Eagles. Opening kickoff returned for a TD - my dad was still in line for a beer.

It's pretty easy to root for Matt Ryan.

I don't know who will win, but I expect at least half a dozen board melt downs.

One of my best friends is getting married Sunday, is from Conshy & is a huge Eagles fan. People who care about football in town for the wedding are gathering for the game Saturday. Trying to calibrate the optimal level of rooting for Atlanta without being a complete dickhead. A few of our other college roommates are big Giants fans so there's a decent chance his HS friends bathe us in beer before it's over.

Deeply annoyed the AFC game is first next week

Everyone I was with seemed to prefer Minnesota to New Orleans. Brees scares people. I kinda think the Vikings are a tougher matchup, but who knows.

Guess I've got to root for Jacksonville because fuck New England, and hope Minnesota or Jacksonville can beat the Eagles. If not I guess the Eagles weren't gonna go 100 years without winning and it had to happen sooner or later. Still would much rather the AFC game was 2nd bc there'd be a lot clarified.

The funniest thing about all this is how the people in the eagles thread are acting like the eagles in the playoffs is uncommon. I guess they have repressed the memories of all the playoff disappointments.

nine years since they were in a NFC Championship game, the three appearances after that were all low expectations
