Thanks guys. That FB marketplace was more robust than I would have thought. I rented a small Kia last week and liked it.

Looking for something cheap (3-5K) and reliable that's decent on gas, to commute with for a few years before getting another family car.

Edit: The other factor is I need to pay cash -- have the impending home refinance hanging over me.

Hm, that's tough. Probably could find a mid 2000s Honda or Subaru but they'll have like 150k on it.

Leaning the former, especially if no (or recently changed) timing belt. But they seem to go quickly

Got a 2007 Civic that runs well from a shady private seller for under 3K. We’ll see!

Better than a Honda. Better than a Subaru.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

not to long now before you'll be able to test drive the dual engine P (performance) model 3. It'll make the one your dad has seem like a subaru!

and yes, i'm not crazy about the interior. hoping they restore some dedicated knobs & buttons in the model Y.

Man Buick is a strange thing these days. For an American car company, it is hardly that.

Small convertible - Poland (Opel)
Wagon - Germany (Opel)
Small crossover - China
Smallish crossover - Korea

You might want to think that they are playing 'best athlete', but all of those cars have some major quirks.

Pontiac has a bandit problem.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

Well the radio is either disconnected or dead -- didn't even think to check that -- but the overall inspection only came to about $300

Here is a weird Pontiac observation, Ontario province is full of them. I was there twice in the last 2 years and it really stood out that these were all over the road. Maybe there is some secret Pontiac stash.

Model 3 w/dual motors available for order now with a 2-4 month delivery. Standard range battery models still 6-9 months out. I guess lots and lots and lots of reservation holders are waiting for the single motor, since they still have 400,000 reservations on the books and are only making 20K per month at this point.

Oh, and the performance model is available in 2-4 months also TCC!!!

EDIT: It's the "standard range" battery models that are still 6-9 months. Of course the single motor (like TCC's dad has) have been available all along, just with the long-range battery.
