dispatch hailed plymouth police and told of a car used in a robbery being tracked and it was headed south on the northeast extension. At this point, they weren't sure if there was a pursuit or not.
it traveled off the turnpike onto the blue route and then down into conshohocken. Suspects allegedly armed. Vehicle got off the blue route, and it was tracked on local roads, and W. Conshohocken police (and i think conshy came over the bridge too) were looking for it. At some point it was learned that the vehicle was being tracked by a gps tracking device. They then gave a static location in the parking lot of an industrial business. Cop was there, said he saw no car. I guess at some point dispatch got access to the realtime tracking view and described where the object should have been located- something like 'behind the trailer, on the side of the scales'. Still nothing. Then a cop said he found the guy and he was fighting with him in the trailer. Other cops showed up around that time, and they took the guy into custody.
Guessing (just GUESSING) maybe it was a money bag from a bank robber. And that they dropped this one guy off there with the bag and kept going. Based on original report of suspectS, and that no car was found in the lot, but the gps tracker apparently was still there.
Like real life CSI!
Quakertown National Bank on Chestnut Street in Perkasie was robbed this morning around 8:20am.
Police say a handgun was displayed. An arrest was made in Bridgeport, Montgomery County. Authorities are still investigating. No injuries reported.
This is a developing story.
