My music choice is mostly disassociated with Tyler Childers' genre and I suspect it slipped in as a recommendation because of John Prine, so it was jarring.

I'd give it a listen and wonder about what his core audience might be thinking when they hear the song. To me I am thinking that I might be able to be optimistic that America might be changing.

Careful, that's pretty close to what Trump would say. Only the smart and educated should be able to vote. Let's not go down the eugenics road.

Doesn't trump get a lot of his votes from the uneducated voters?

And old people with dementia. Who live in nursing homes and like to vote absentee.

Yes, but that wasn't what I was saying. I'm just saying IQ isn't something that should be a prerequisite for voting.

It already is to a certain extent, I think I saw something like 1%-2% of mail in votes are rejected. Not sure how many in person votes are rejected as well but there are ways to mess that up too.

Maybe someday we will be voting online or via an app and it will be as easy as clicking a button but until that point we are going to have people mess up their ballot by not following the directions unfortunately.

I am sure some smart people have messed it up too, maybe it is a following directions test more than an IQ test.

So, a literacy test in other words?

That's illegal.

Thanks @reading, I appreciate the video. Pretty amazing I would think. As I said, this song was just a bolt of lightening to me. I almost skipped it because it was off style for me, but am glad I did not. That video is pretty incredible.

That's been true of every voting method ever. The "naked ballot" controversy last week was dumb.

Sounds like he's reading a letter out of Burn's Gettysburg documentary.

Wish we could clone him.

I think there are degrees of difficult. Some ways of voting will lead to more error than others. I would suspect the multiple-envelop ballot will have more mistakes than what would occur in the voting booth. I certainly hope it's not 1%.

Anyway, I think we all agree that multiple methods of voting is good and that we should get voting access to as many people as possible.

I mean ... pretty much. If you can't understand the instructions and don't bother to ask for help you would've probably fucked your in-person vote up, too.

I'm low key worried about my signature matching. I have poor handwriting, and I've given up completely at trying to make it look good. I can't remember if my official signature is before or after I gave up completely.

I tried to replicate the one from my license, yeah. Luckily the signature box is small.

But in ChesCo, at least, you can verify that your vote was processed before election day and, if not, go and vote on a provisional ballet

Yeah, the signature on my license isn’t really like my normal signature. I can never sign those plastic signature pads to make it look like what I actually sign like.

Was already a big Tyler Childers fan prior to the release of this album and the accompanying video, but my respect for him went up even higher after it.

Never heard of him, but that was a nice statement. Hopefully he'll pick up enough new fans to offset those former fans who will now boycott him.

True story: I once had my vote rejected because of poor handwriting. It wasn't that my signature didn't match. Rather, when I filled out the registration form, I did not write my name neatly so while it was recorded on the voter rolls, the first letter of my last name was incorrect. So when I went to vote, my name wasn't on the list where it should be. I voted provisionally, but my vote was rejected. I later figured out what happened when in the next election I saw my name was spelled incorrectly on my sample ballot.

These 3rd Quarter fundraising numbers for candidates are insane. Cal Cunningham raised over 28 million.

Hope Hicks, who traveled with Trump aboard Air Force One to and from the presidential debate on Tuesday, and to his Minnesota rally yesterday, has coronavirus.
