Biden in Plain Sight: Politics

Just so it does not get washed over by a fake video of Trump firing a fake Obama, DHS appointee said to refocus Russia interference and whatever nationalist threat assessment because it makes Trump look bad. I previously posted the start of this where the appointee ignored releasing Russia analysis for over 60 days.

Where is the focus? China, Iran and Antifa

I'm thinking about it, just this week we've copy it's denigration in the military, what Trump knew about COVID and when he knew it (NLT Jan 28), 2 DHS whistle blowers (did someone say Inspector General?), and the Cohen sponsored "Apprentice" video. It's only Wednesday.

And what sucks is that I am not sure a single Trump voter cares at all.

What I was talking about is from the whistle blower reports, not riffing.

Shameful, it should be much father apart. You'd think the approval should be in the low 30's, not low 40's

You do realize that Trump cannot actually eliminate the FICA tax by decree, right?

It's just more bluster on his part, throwing red meat to his cultists.

The Federalist Society gave him a list to work from. Seriously.

That's where he got his other two picks.

The people on the edges of the administration seem to be going all in on stopping him. People are coming out of the woodwork with allegations. I assume they waited until now for maximum effect. It could be coordinated.

I hope they're successful because if they aren't there'll be nobody left to push back against him if he wins.

My prediction right now is Biden wins with 290 or 280. I think Trump will get OH, NC, GA, and FL, but Biden will hold on by getting PA, MI, WI, MN, AZ, and all of Maine. That would give him 290, which means he lose PA or WI and MN and still squeak by with 270.

I'm glad that he held back information to keep people from panicking. Otherwise, there may have been riots in the streets and cities on fire. Good thing we dodged that bullet. Thanks Trump!

I was just making noise, not trying to poke at you, it just seems like the crazy has been turned to 11.

That said, I am now wondering, because no one should trust Cohen at all, if this was somewhat coordinated as a hamfisted attempt at a distraction with the news about his ignorance/uncaring about military & vets compounded by his statements about the DoD leadership wanting to make defense contracts happy and wealthy, while not recognizing the damage that the book(s) would be offering up (including on the recorded audio), the serious questions about the DOJ stepping up to act as a personal lawyer for the president, and the two whistle blower reports out of DHS (not actually sure if it is two, or if it is one with someone supporting/confirming to the press).

Much like the Watergate Tapes, the Trump Tapes should be administration ending. Period. His cultists are of course lost and will gleefully confirm on Election Day that there is literally nothing Trump can do (or not do) that will cost him their vote. For the somehow still undecided though, this really should be the final nail in the coffin. This is not "I grab 'em by the..." talk, this is "I flat out lied to the American people and probably cost some of them their lives" talk. There should be absolutely no coming back from such admissions. Who, other than his base, can possibly trust anything this guy says or does in a second term? Or even while he is campaigning for a second term?

This is the Frost/Nixon interviews playing out while Nixon is still in office. It doesn't have the same ring to it but while Nixon will always have "When the President does it, that means that it is not illegal", Trump will always have "I wanted to always play it down".

I think it’s fair to try not to cause a public panic. I just don’t think he and the admin did it with good intention.

And they certainly didn’t couple it with rationale, reasonable recommendations.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Downplaying it is different from not causing panic. Unfortunately the fully indoctrinated cannot see the difference.

It is very fair to not want to cause a panic but not wanting to cause a panic and actively working against what you know to be true are very different things. It seems obvious but it is also possible to not cause a panic and be truthful. Bush managed it after 9/11. Roosevelt managed it after Pearl Harbor.

I’m pretty sure Trump did drop that line about the President being able to do illegal shit a few times over the last couple of years.

Question: A tsunami is coming, its going to wipe out San Diego, what should we do?
Answer: Don't send out that emergency text, do not activate the national alert system, and for heaven sake, do not turn on those warning sirens because people might panic.

Trump's 4D chess on this is if Woodward had the quotes for this long, he would have shared them if there was actually a danger to the American people. So the pandemic is Woodward's fault it appears.

Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives? Didn’t he have an obligation to do so? No, because he knew they were good and proper answers. Calm, no panic!
