With respect to the NRA suit, I hope they didn't make the impeach Trump mistake: that is, they better have serious, clear, easy-to-understand charges that will shock the conscience of anyone capable of following a basic narrative. The more complicated and/or obscure and/or "just seems like politics as usual" it is, the easier it will be to (1) dismiss it as a witch hunt and (2) use it as others have suggested to gin up populist support for Trump.

Ohio just tested en-mass. Saw a graphic about a 56 year old man who infected like 90 others by going to church in Ohio. DeWine's office put it out as a graphic. Some people age going ape shit that he is calling out a church VS protesters or whatever, but the fact is that the church was the site of spread and he was calling out foolishness.

Yes, that was my first thought. I hope they have the goods. But it seems like the NRA were pretty bad about hiding it and North came out and said there are problems, so I assume he'll work with authorities if he hasn't already done so.

I'm concerned this will generate some energy for Trump supporters. It's not just about who people will vote for. Get out the vote efforts depend a lot on energy and volunteers. This should help both of those things for the GOP. Hopefully it will peel off enough enough disgusted NRA supporters to even that out.

I do think it's possible this will tie back to Trump. Remember that russian spy woman who was in bed (literally) will some GOP folks and it was all tied to the NRA. There was a lot of russian money coming through there and then indirectly into Trump's coffers.

I believe it was the NY office of some agency that was behind much of the anti-hillary stuff right before the election. Maybe that's going to happen again, except in favor of the dems this time.

I expect Collins to lose and McConnell and Graham to win. That’s based on no data or projection and just my guess.

Yeah, McConnell likely wins, but he becomes Senate Minority Leader Until Death

Kentucky numbers have been all over the place. It's a little inside baseball, but Trump negotiating with the Dems and seemingly sidelining McConnell in the relief bill negotiations might have a small impact.

I expected Collins down more.

The Kentucky polls are all over the place. I just can't imagine Mitch losing.

Seems like Harrison's been steadily closing on Graham. I think this one simply comes down to turnout.

A D that isnt beshear to win statewide against someone other than bevin is very very unlikely

and harrison would be a coup. just not enough D votes in South Carolina.

Took a little longer than anticipated but here it is:

@realDonaldTrump
Just like Radical Left New York is trying to destroy the NRA, if Biden becomes President your GREAT SECOND AMENDMENT doesn’t have a chance. Your guns will be taken away, immediately and without notice. No police, no guns!

Oh god, can you imagine a world without police or guns?

Trump railing on Biden for saying the wrong thing often, yet tripped over his own words and called Thailand thigh land not terribly long before making that comment. And again maybe that's just where his brain operates.

Somehow he thinks that nobody could do what he has done with the covid crisis. I think it's more like nobody would have done what he did in standing there with his thumb up his ass for so long watching the bodies pile up. I think pretty much anybody could have done a blockheaded job like he has.

He also said take away your religion and your guns, that Biden "hurt The Bible, hurt God", and that Biden is against God. That's a pretty ballsy thing when Joe finds himself often at mass and Trump finds himself often at the golf course on Sunday mornings.

Lack of J-1 visa spoil cheap labor at the beach. Well there is a lot of obvious about the faults in this system. COVID gets the blame, but there is a lot more in the underpinnings.Trump mashed the J-1 at the beginning of summer as well, but like all things Trump-COVID it was too little too late.

I've had this argument with a friend who takes a similar viewpoint, and I kinda take the view that you're just playing whack-a-mole if you're trying to avoid doing anything that will inflame the GOP base. No matter what you do, the Republican machine will find a way to drum up some random occurrence as a wedge issue that's proof of whatever they're selling. Some local city council passing a bill saying you can't bring assault rifles to a kindergarten center will become a national cause for anarchy. If the Democrats who are empowered to make real changes don't do it because they're afraid Republicans will be mad about it, what's the point of all this?
