Democrat Charles Booker, a Kentucky state representative, is hoping to lean on the support of his fellow local elected officials as he tries to upset Amy McGrath in the Senate primary. Campaign Pro’s James Arkin reported (for Pros) that nearly half of the Democrats in the state House have backed him, and two state senators and another representative also endorsed his bid. "They are realizing that the [DSCC] choice, the person that has all this outside money, is not the strongest candidate to do it. And they're standing with me,” Booker said in an interview with James. (McGrath is endorsed by the DSCC.)

I tend to agree. McGrath builds nothing with the local party, brings nothing other than being a fighter pilot, and initially got off being 'pro-Trump'. For the national party to continue to push her is pretty lame.

Amy McGrath is full court pressing Northern Virginia for money to trade on Mitch hate. I think I even got a mailer. I'll be honest, I was tempted just out of spite. I've got some sub-hundred dollar figure for someone who runs against Mitch.

Rumors swirling that session in Harrisburg is delayed because four members of the House GOP have COVID.

GOP members are immune to COVID ... riffing on that the irony could be that those unpatriotic, devil worshiping mask wearers would be who rolls in and buys newly available real estate on the cheap. #sinister

Yeah seems to be a tactic Biden is adopting. Talk about how he gave millions to all the businesses that donate to him.

I feel like dems have also been waiting until the stretch drive to really hit him over that charity case in NY where he had to admit his foundation was ripping off charities and pay a huge fine. That will hit home with people, but they would forget about it if dems brought it up in March, such is the nature of the endless scandals.

Emulating Trump is not a winning strategy.

mocking is not the same as emulating in this case. The right name that would point out how childish, incoherent, incompetent, and/or insecure he is could be a winner if it's the right name. Something about his insecurities would be ideal because it would set him off. Anything that sets him off and makes him look like the fool he is could help dems.

Plus, Biden doesn't have to do it himself. Plenty of surrogates would line up for the chance.

Twitter has now shown that everything we have been saying about them (and their other compatriots) is correct. Big action to follow!

Twit Force

The really interesting part imo is what Trump’s “big action” will be. He’s got no First Amendment case. Twitter could legally (if not practically) cut him off if they wanted. He could try legislation but that has little chance of happening and would probably take too long anyway. He could try to rally his followers to boycott Twitter but then he endangers his own best platform.

Based on previous experience my guess is he’ll get Butt Boy Barr to increase antitrust pressure on the social media companies to try to get them to bend to the imperial will.

I do think what Twitter has done, although perhaps not enough, is bold though. They’ve done nothing before now and to poke this particular bear less than 6 months before the election is setting up a huge confrontation.

As long as Trump can continue to use Twitter (and there's no way they can cut him off completely), he will win any war with Twitter because it will be the perfect platform to claim media bias. "Look, they are stifling my 1st amendment rights!" "We need to make legislation that will reign in media companies, especially the ones who don't agree with me. And I think you're right that he will use Barr to apply pressure.

Sorry to repeat. It sure seems so, though I don't see people getting riled up over 50 cents or whatever it is.

Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that....

This is a US president talking about taking governmental action to shut down private businesses. Why? Because Twitter called him out on ONE of the steady stream of lies he has told over the past four+ years. This is also a US president advocating against free and fair elections, i.e. democracy. Americans must remain vigilant!!

He doesn't like mail-in ballots because he doesn't want paper trails.

Of course it is, but that doesn't mean the same people who said a bakery can refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple won't turn right around and say Twitter should allow the president to spin any lie he wants.

By the way, I think I read that Scarborough's TV partner (I forget her name) met with the CEO of Twitter a few days ago about the president's tweets. I don't think that's going to look good once they start hitting twitter with it.

George Floyd? The most hardcore Trump supporter I know on Facebook called it a straight up murder and then chastised the bystanders for not jumping the police to save his life.
