The WHO or China could have withheld because neither knew enough to communicate (or knew anything was amiss at all).

ABC and someone else reported a few days ago about US intel saying there was some kind of respiratory illness disrupting things in September in Wuhan.

The problem with this is how does disruption that's bad enough to be noticed by our intell not get noticed by Chinese doctors and journalists? And what about the science that looks at the genetics and says it likely originated in late October?

Not sure how to square the report of a september virus with everything else we know. Maybe the most likely scenario is one where the intell is bad in the Trump administration and we should just believe the journalists and scientists.

My mom and dad also believe they had it in Nov-Dec. My mom was sick for over a month and they got sick on a cruise through Greece/Israel/Italy.

There is far more uncertainties than certainties at this point.

The thing that's for certain that I was pointing out is that someone doesn't know what they are talking about. Was there a virus causing major disruption in September? If so, then a whole lot of people are wrong about the viral origins and genetics. If there was no virus going around in September, then why does our intel say there was? Someone is very wrong or lying.

Poor 702.

Luckily, The Strip isn't in Las Vegas and is governed by the county commission.

From her husband's Wikipedia page, an old story I had forgotten:

On March 3, 2005, Goodman spoke to a group of fourth-graders at Jo Mackey Elementary School. When asked what he would take with him if marooned on a desert island, the mayor replied, "A bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin." When asked about his hobbies, the mayor named drinking Bombay Sapphire Gin as a favorite. Later, when asked to comment about his statements, Goodman was unapologetic: "I'm the George Washington of mayors. I can't tell a lie. If they didn't want the answer, the kid shouldn't have asked the question."

To no one's surprise Rick Bright was apparently removed from his role as head of the federal agency developing a vaccine because he disagreed with Trump on allocating resources to unproven remedies

Trump's response is classic Trump, that ol' scamp!:

Asked at his daily briefing if Dr. Bright had been forced out, Mr. Trump said, “Maybe he was and maybe he wasn’t; I don’t know who he is.”
"No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body."

i forgot who tried to debate me about the real reason we should all wear at the very least some kind of mask... but this is an excellent article on the topic

The Real Reason to Wear a Mask
Much of the confusion around masks stems from the conflation of two very different uses.

i think we're not sure which site you're referring to as 'covid tracking' as that's pretty much what they're all attempting

In FLA, my college roommate lives alone. His older brother, a doctor, lives alone nearby. Also alone, nearby, is 90 year old mom. My buddy is 64, his brother is 68. Brother has a twin who suffers from schizophrenia; sweet guy who has scary meltdowns and deep paranoia. He's in an assisted living facility that did great to lock down - only 2 residents have CV19, but one is the brother. He's old, mentally ill, obese, and diabetic. Yet he's weathered the virus and expects to be discharged from the hospital in 2 days. He DID get the hydroxy-Q and Z-pac meds, but his brother the doc also administered a shot of Enbrel, which they feel calmed the cytokine storm. There are some trials of Enbrel going on. It does not kill the virus but helps the body withstand the virus.
