Covid-19 - Opening gates. Find higher ground.

So, let me see if I got this straight. Trump says that the governors need to take control of testing. Larry Hogan, Governor of Maryland, gets more tests on his own from South Korea, and Trump is pissed. Make sense for this administration.

I saw the video on Twitter. It's hard to hear all the audio. Doesn't make it much better but it sounds like she starts with "Go to China if you want communism." IMO it's being framed like she's screaming "Go back to China." If that's the case it only makes fighting the idiots more difficult.

according to the photographer it was 'go back to china'.

Good to attack one the most popular governors who happens to be a member of your own party. Smart politics.

Living in Maryland, I like Hogan a lot... I don't worry too much about political parties but Hogan seems like a good guy who cares about those he serves, shows leadership and professionalism, and gets things done... good characteristics in a public servant... happy he took things into his own hands... good for us in Maryland

Eyewitness testimony is unreliable :!:

More likely she said both.

Dude is Asian. I’m sure go back to China w as shouted at him at least once. Along with the other stuff. I’ve heard from friends and friends of friends about their experiences as providers in the hospitals. Early on, there were a lot of patients who refused or declined to be treated by said Asian American medical professional. These people, I guess, would rather die than take treatment from a person with yellow skin who could be in some way affiliated with Wuhan or China regardless of actual ethnic origin.

@lethal I would have preferred that these folks sign a treatment declined’ form and were rolled out to a tent used for parking lot sales in a different time for storage

I wouldn't object to allowing hair and beauty salons to open shortly with strong guidelines (hygiene and store capacity limits, appointments mandatory). They won't be much safer three months from now than they will three weeks from now. There's already a huge demand and the longer we wait, the worse it will get.

I can personally hold out until whenever, but I think it makes sense to phase them in once cases decline for a couple weeks straight.

Plans to reopen were also moving forward in Ohio, where a state prison has become the country’s largest-known source of coronavirus infections.

Those Ohio trends are going the wrong way including the Nike like swish in the capital.

I didn't mean to minimize what's going on out there. If some idiots refused chinese takeout I can just imagine the bullshit providers (and others) deal with from these jackasses.

i disagree. the number of new cases in relation to testing must drop really low for this imo. being in close proximity to 10-20 people a day is like playing russian roulette. if we can get to a place where we can equip our hairdressers with N95 masks, then maybe- but that's a long way off. for obvious reasons, the customer will need to remove their mask for at least part of the service.

Of course. That's just "stuff" which isn't nearly as scary as *gasp* "foreigners"¹ who look different from our subjects and occasionally hold different cultural/religious beliefs.

honestly, not too hard to find an illegal, black market, backyard haircut. all it takes is a call to your regular stylist. if not just check out craigslist.

Arizona launched this early last week and the health director in my county said it's great but don't assume because you have low cases numbers that means you're fine.

Nazareth zip code:
Positive - 113
Negative 347

About 25k people in the zip code = 1.5 million if the whole country tested positive at the same rate.

DIdn't notice anything like this for NC yet

1300 new cases and 360 deaths for PA.

We are in the midst of the peak. Have to be.
