Hey, we should equate getting CV to driving drunk. It's not just your life you're endangering.

That big New York Times article from yesterday and today's The Daily pod were .... sobering.

SC joining. Those MFers better stay on their side of the state border.

Today's update has NJ at 9.986 cases per thousand. So tomorrow will be the official crossing of 1% of the state's population confirmed positive.

Differs a bit from Georgia.

Beach opening up to local governments.

Retail opening limited to:
Furniture and home-furnishings stores
Clothing, shoe, and clothing-accessory stores
Jewelry, luggage, and leather goods stores
Department stores, with the exception of hardware and home-improvement stores
Sporting goods stores
Book, craft, and music stores
Flea markets
Florists and flower stores

I like that SC list, not sure what their numbers look like for cases. Would be better to wait a week or two. I'm also not totally anti-beach if they're treated the way we treat our parks/squares. Enforce social distancing and maybe put a limit on number of entrances

Per 1000 population. Just shy of 89k cases and population is just shy of 8.9 million people.

My spreadsheet when I started tracking it daily on March 29th was at 1.5 per 1000. So total infected has grown more than 6x in the past three+ weeks. State doesn't have data as far as I can tell on 'recovered' vs. active cases, so growth in active cases isn't nearly that bad.

One bright spot is overall hospitalizations are down for a 5th straight day so hopefully it's getting better.

Yeh, holy #$!&@. I refuse to believe these people are that stupid. They just don't care if they kill others. They are more interested in practicing Trump's grievance politics than going to work or exercising their freedom. This country is so #$!&@ ugly.

Believe me if he gets sick he’ll be the first person to blame Obama for reopening the country. Then he’ll push his way into the hospital Constanta style in order to get what he deserves as a god fearin, gun totin American

SC has been on the low end, which is not the case with Georgia. With similar testing levels, they're at about half the positive rate f Georgia and one third the death rate and pretty clearly declining. Besides being high, that Georgia's cases are declining is not even clear.

Some of it is because their health department appears to take weekends off, but Georgia recorded over 1200 new cases and nearly 100 deaths today, both sixth in the nation.

NJ closed a lot of beaches. The ones that are open haven't been crowded. I fish just about every day. Usually just me and 3-4 people one a 1/4 mile long jetty, a few surfers in the water, and a few runners at lower tides.

(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."
