So the bot/bro narrative.

It's ridiculous and also borderline insulting to people who've cared for or experienced a family member truly suffering with dementia.

I agree. Biden on stage v Bernie alone will not be a good look for him.

Bernie is an absolute disgrace on these morning shows. Doing Trump and Russia’s bidding by going on FoxNews and trashing Biden and endorsing conspiracies about “the establishment.”

Fuck that loser.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Take this as a knock or a compliment but there is very little in his history to suggest that Bernie won’t fight this for this nomination to the convention. He’s not worried about his standing or future in the party that he’s not a part of and he believes in the undeniable righteousness of his cause

Disregarding Sanders and Trump, what in Biden’s platform or legislative history makes him an appealing candidate? This is not snark, I would legitimately like to be sold on him and I’m having difficulty buying Biden stock.

Saw that my country, Loudoun, increased its primary turn out 98% over 2016. 71651 voters. That is ~27% of the registered voters 267672.

I will see you and raise you with the question of 'what are your concerns?'

Now to your point. At this point I think that the appear is something on the order of:

1. Familiarity. I actually think that this is people talking themselves into something FWIW.

2. Mistrust of Bernie and his baggage. His Democrat of convenience, kind words about all manner of US advasaries, that honeymoon, etc. are all target rich material for Trumps Trolls.

3. Belief that Joe is going to try to turn Obama programs into viable, lasting, intrinsic programs. This is sort of the LBJ track with the great society to finish and take further JFK & FDR programs before he tripped with over Vietnam.

4. Longing for Obama. That president that progressives seem to be digging in to hate on.

5. The idea that he wants to work across the isle, not that this avenue is open.

6. Can't get enough of those stories /snark.

Not sure which show I saw him on but the clip was him talking about Michigan and said Flint Detroit. I could not tell if he just skipped that pesky unnecessary conjunction or if he didn't know these two are 65 miles apart. Maybe he was just invoking Biden.

It’s a legit question. Biden has a long record, some of which — especially from the 90’s — is not particularly attractive to 21st century liberal voters. Outside of Joe and his family I’m not sure you could find anyone who thinks Biden is the ideal candidate.

OTOH, Bernie is not without his warts, too. He doesn’t have as much controversy about his record because, frankly, his record is barren. Bernie is an ideologue. His ideology hews close to my own so I’ve always liked it. But, even putting aside questions of electability, one has to wonder whether his style is conducive to being a leader who actually gets things done. It’s great to have a leader with ideas we like, but if he can’t convince others in government to follow him, it doesn’t do much good.

The Daily Beast:

Of the 422 bills for which Sanders has been the lead sponsor during his nearly 30 years in Congress, only three have become law, according to Congress.gov. Two of them were perfunctory bills to name post offices.

Almost 30 years in the Senate and one substantive bill passed for which he was the lead sponsor. And he hasn’t just been butting heads with Republicans.

“This crisis demands more than a senator who has good ideas,” said Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), in what was her sharpest rebuke of her ideological co-traveler to date, “but whose 30-year track record shows he consistently calls for things he fails to get done and consistently opposes things he nevertheless fails to stop.”

If this were a beauty pageant and Bernie and Joe were the last 2 standing they might cancel the event. Pick the one you want and try to get him nominated. But if you don’t fall in behind the winner and you get Trump you’ve got no one to blame but yourself.

I don’t know much about his platform outside of that his healthcare plan (from what I read) is trash.

He wrote the Clinton crime bill, embarrassed and discredited Anita Hill in order to get Clarence Thomas confirmed to the SCOTUS, voted to repeal Glass Steagall, voted for the Patriot Act, voted for DOMA, voted for the Iraq War.

During his campaign, he’s said things like we’re going to solve domestic violence by punching away at the problem, told people to vote for other candidates including the other Biden, said nothing would substantially change if he were president, called a girl a lying dog faced pony soldier, tried to spur a “no malarkey” tour or something.

I guess I just don’t consider him someone that has a vision for America that makes me optimistic for the future.

Unlike Sanders, Biden knows how to build a coalition.
