China has had only new 8 confirmed infections over the last 24 hours. If you're looking for a sliver of hope, then that's something I guess.

Well since the US only managed to test 8 people on Tuesday there is serendipity.

FWIW - How much should we trust China's accuracy in reporting?

On a personal note, it is just beginning to hit me that I'm going to miss my students. I have a nice crop of seniors graduating this year, and I have always enjoyed watching them get their diplomas and move to the next step in their lives. And then there are the ones who were turning the corner academically but now are getting the rug pulled out from under them.

They have taken extreme measures that:

a) we don't have the infrastructure in place right now to replicate

b) our population at this time will not adhere to the requirements to get these results (i.e. quarantine away from family/home immediately, not allowed to leave until test results are verified, etc)

So if they think Ohio has 100,000 people with it, and 0 deaths, that is kinda good news at this point?

Or is possible people are dying and they don't know they had it?

It's canceled.

I learned this bit of information at the other show I went to last night where I got the coronavirus. It happened, I feel it. Might as well get it over with. Psychologically, this thing had put me in a bad headspace of fear and panic which is more traumatizing than the virus itself to me. I had discussion on it at my job yesterday that sent me spiraling. It felt good to be around good community last night. If they're gonna lock us down anyway, well, at least I went out being a human. It's totally disgusting how we're being separated this past week. I went to the grocery store yesterday afternoon and it was the weirdest most morbid vibe ever. Heavy eyes all around, everyone looking to one another and categorizing them. Fuck this virus fuck the government fuck the media and fuck mostly everything. I feel way better now that I know I can go ahead and fight, instead of cower in fear.

I think it is a 'you don't know what you don't know' situation in yOhio. It could be good/could be bad. Since they have had almost no way to test its hard to say. I would think it would be largely contained to the cities as the middle is largely rural (Columbus is sort of central).

Unfathomable it’s taken this long. Criminal.

They announce a lot of crap but nothing gets done. Trump doesn’t want testing because the numbers would go up. Does anyone truly believe that he wouldn’t gladly and easily trade 10 million American lives just to be re-elected?

I was just reading about Trudeau's wife having the virus and was kinda shocked that they specifically said he was not being tested because he is not showing any symptoms. I think it was the same thing with Trump and Pence. This seems unbelievably short-sighted and dumb given that the incubation period has been stated at 2-14 days (avg ~5). I am not a doctor (nor do I play one on TV) but this seems to mean that they could be carriers and pass the virus on to dozens more before becoming symptomatic. Now Trudeau is self-isolating but our moron president and VP certainly are not, despite being in contact with SEVERAL people who have tested positive for COVID-19. Just another example of their failure.

My girlfriend wanted to watch a movie last night so she wouldn’t obsess over coronavirus coverage. Maybe putting on Train to Busan was a bad idea.

I think I'm mentally prepared to be at home until late May or early June. We'll see how I feel about that in a few weeks.

One of the scientific reports posted said you could be a carrier for like 30 days.
