Mexican smuggling gangs have repeatedly sawed through new sections of President Trump’s border wall with commonly available power tools and have created large enough openings for people and drugs to pass through, The Washington Post reported.

KAC is just running over Dana Bash on SOTU. The basic strategy of talking over the interviewer, saying what you want, and denying everything. As supposed earlier, it is the specific words that prove innocence. Find 'Quid Pro Quo' or '2020' in the "transcript".

Isn't that all she ever does? Not just her but most Trump defenders.

Can these idiots not learn that there's no point in interviewing these people? This is why television news is terrible. A print interviewer would ask the question, get a non-response, and be done with it.

I agree TV. I think they should hard pass on the offer of KAC and any drone from the press office, outside of a press briefing in the press room (currently being used to store chairs). I might disagree that a print reporter would be done, they just would not print non-responsive answers.

Have a few thoughts about the municipal elections in Chester County on Tuesday-

I'm voting Dem on everything except I'm still torn on the below.

Commissioner- Terrance Ferrel and Michelle Keichline are nice people. I see Terrance a lot at Levante. Marian Moskowitz is great. She actually has accomplishments and will be one of my two votes. Josh Maxwell, the other Dem running is a loser. It sucks. Somehow he got the party endorsement by mostly winning the praise of the anti pipeline people. He doesn't have a job and thinks showing up to 70 percent of borough council meetings is commendable because he is not required to be there as mayor of Downingtown. His profession is running for office. He has tried to be a state rep 3 or 4 times and has lost every time. It sucks that he is our nominee.

Prothonotary- Matt Holliday the republican is a good guy. He probably does too much. He's on like 14 boards which to me means he can't be doing them all well. Anyway, I know him but leaning towards Debbie Bookman. There's nothing wrong with her and it's hard to justify picking a R over a decent Dem.

Register of Wills- both candidates suck. Michelle Vaughn is a child who basically got tapped for this job for the Dems. She had this weird Facebook comment meltdown back and forth with a pipeline activitist a month ago. Completely embarrassing. However, the republican also sucks. Probably end up voting for Vaughn but man.

Yesterday I decided to do all Dems but pretty annoyed with Josh Maxwell. I'll sit on it a few more days. I am not opposed to him losing and being never heard from again. Leaning just picking one of the Rs and Marian despite how nice it would be to have a clean sweep.

Does party affiliation for the recordkeeper notary job matter at all? I have no idea, but I have a hard time seeing how it mean I'd vote against someone I know is "good" however you define it.

Only in the sense that the republicans have controlled our county my entire life. Not as bad as Delco but favors here and there kinda stuff since no one to hold them accountable.

Row Officer jobs matter because the person that is elected has the complete authority to hire and fire anyone and is not required to hold this to any sort of standard. We have several in Berks County that simply hire their friends and family. The original idea behind electing everything, including judges, was to avoid the machine politics, but it's simply cemented it.

I won't vote for any Republican at any level unless that Republican publicly and repeatedly disavows Trump.

at least around here, i don't think the party affiliation is all that relevant. in fact, the D's are playing party-line politics, often to the detriment of the constituents.

of course though the TP rule applies, although not as severe. I surf the candidates facebook pages for trump support to decide. one guy i know was an adamant supporter so he's out.

and the R running for county controller is out. paid for and paid for many lawn signs that said something like "like waiting in traffic? vote democrat!"

@realDonaldTrump
False stories are being reported that a few Republican Senators are saying that President Trump may have done a quid pro quo, but it doesn’t matter, there is nothing wrong with that, it is not an impeachable event. Perhaps so, but read the transcript, there is no quid pro quo!

This is easily the longest it has taken Trump (or one of his ghouls) to get to "I didn't do it but if I did there is nothing wrong with it".

Little republicans grow up politically to become bigger republicans. What if election to a local position provides the credibility for progressing to higher offices, where they toe the party line? Personally, I'm not taking that chance.

That is how the Republicans in Chester County have used the local elections for years. Groom them to have larger roles and elected positions. For example, Ryan Costello was county commissioner before becoming a congressman.

I'm close to this view. But am limiting to federal offices. If a state office guy runs based on Trump allegiance or even publicly expresses any Trump support then I am out on him/her too. I don't hold my local/county R officials responsible for Trump in general though.

I’ve been getting random text messages the last week or so about the election. Got one about that Maxwell dweeb on Saturday

Hi, my name's Jim, and I just learned that a candidate for County Commissioner, Josh Maxwell, failed to attend 75% of borough meetings as Mayor this year, 75% of water authority meetings while on the board last year, was sued TWICE for not paying rent, AND arrested for Drunk Driving...and he wants our vote! I know its Halloween, but that's SCARY! Paid for by RCCC. Reply STOP to stop. https://youtu.be/6jak66hSbLM

Not sure how I would up on the rccc text list, but whatever, I looked into him and he does seem like a loser.
