He was a vocal ally of Boehner and leadership against the Freedom Caucus and made fun of nutty Republicans and now he is this. Genuinely horrendous. Meanwhile, I always thought Jim Jordan was an idiot, so him being an idiot isn't that much of a change.
Also definitely top 10 (need to think about the rest more):
Lindsey Graham
Hugh Hewitt

Honest question-to quote Anton Chigurh, “If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?”
Since 2015, 90% of conservatives have demonstrated that they care way more about owning the libs, being racist, and bootlicking authoritarianism here and abroad than they do any so-called conservative principles-rule of law, constitutionalism, Burkean sobriety, etc.
I would argue this is what conservatism has always been in America, along with maintaining privilege and power for certain groups-whites, men, Christians, the wealthy, etc. But I imagine you disagree.
If so, where do you think it went wrong? Why are supposedly smart people like Barr, Nunes, Graham, etc. just melting down and showing their ass every day in defense of a grotesque, corrupt imbecile? I don’t believe it’s just an act or simply for political expediency.
Again-serious question. I read lots of conservative media, from never Trumpish stuff like NR and the Bulwark to full on MAGA crap like Breitbart and the Federalist. Their answers tend to range from “the libs are mean to us so we have to fight back” to faux-populist pablum about the “forgotten” people in flyover country. I don’t find either of these answers adequate.
