He has gotten marginally more fluent in the language of mainstream American conservatism , so I wouldn't be surprised if he has been exposed to the "IT'S A REPUBLIC NOT A DEMOCRACY" stuff, particularly given his obsession with his Electoral College victory versus the popular vote margin.
