First of all, it’s meant as a figure of speech, not literally. Second, vets don’t get a pass from criticism, especially when they run for leader of the free world.

That actually made me respect her a lot more, while continuing to despise a lot of those who would "support" her for their own reasons. The overreaction to some small deviations from Democratic conformity aren't a good look. And the casting of her recognition that the Democratic party wants to channel support to preferred candidates-again-as a contention that she's accusing the election of being rigged is slightly nauseating.

yea shes weird about assad but i think it has less to do with putin paying her and more to do with the fact shes a vet that has experienced the horrors of war and also deeply understands the corruption of much of our foreign policy in the middle east, so shes against US intervention. not gonna pretend i know shit about whats going on in syria though.

im not even a tulsi lover, honest. i just prefer her to 90% of her war hungry colleagues

The one she referred to as a "brutal dictator?" Look, she's not getting my vote anyway, but she's a consistent non-interventionist which I prefer to the Trumpian blowhard of tough talk followed by passive or not-so-passive laissez-faire to dictators, or, in his trumpian way, a sandwich of blowhard/free pass/blowhard. For all practical purposes we've conceded Syria to Assad so any tough talk by other Democratic candidates falls into that blowhard realm unless they're willing to step into a war that I don't think they or the country has the stomach for. It's just so much chirping, and her refusal to go along, as I say, tends me toward feelings of respect, though not agreement.

It sickens me the way the Syrian situation has devolved. But staying out of situations we can't resolve used to be pretty mainstream Democratic,not a reason to be cast as a foreign agent (though certainly there are aspects that suit the policy goals of other nations).
