Donny J and the Giant ImPeach: politics

Its like a fire hose in Rudy world. Two other scammers were rolled up in his influence scheme. Andrey Kukushkin, a Ukrainian-born California businessman, was arrested last week in San Francisco, and David Correia, a Florida resident, was arrested the other day. Of course there are picture of all these guys at the White House and other place with Official #1. That guy, loving the camera, has no idea how bad a look it is to bring in randos to the WH because Count Chocula said so. Forget shadow foreign policy, how about shadow executive governance.

Because Official #1 views his job as a game show, he seems to not understand that all these people, none of whom he can remember, just might be sketchy, and if the prize awarded is a stop at the WH, free ride on AF1, or whatever is highly questionable, especially if you have no idea who these people are.

They know what they are doing. 4D chess.

He doesn't see this photo as her owning him, or at least his base won't see it that way (out of context). She is standing up among a room full of sitting men so she must be the one melting down and being too aggressive due to her womanly out of control emotions.

Can't blame her for an emotional response as she navigates thru men-of-pause.

Rick Perry says he was told to talk to Rudy about Ukraine?

Sondland is an unqualified crook basically who also asked Ukraine about Hunter Biden during a WH visit?

Also fucking Trump tried to spring on some grieving parents the person who murdered their son?

Pro Publica has some news about Trump taxes?

Everything gets lost it feels.

I dunno. Feels like it is piling up and mattering.

But agree that it's tough to pick individually what matters and what doesn't.

Literally every day, or at least weekday, for the past month or so, something has happened with the Trump administration that would have been a month long scandal in a previous administration. It is so bad and so frequent that we can't really process the individual lashes. But with more people speaking about the Ukraine stuff and more GOP lawmakers losing their minds at Trump demonstrating his true colors with this Syria/Kurds/Turkey shit in a way that wounds stuff they actually care about, I do think it matters.

I think that you mean for the past 3 years. So much has happened over the course of his entire administration that would have been major scandals in other admins that are either swept under the rug, ignored or drowned out by the next scandal.

I mean his education secretary is currently facing jail time for ignoring a court order and nobody is even talking about it.

What happened to Fox News? Jennifer Griffin took the administration to task for spewing Erdogan talking point, while leaving equipment and information in a perilous position to be taken by any of a number of actors which should not have it. Unparalleled wisdom from a stable genius on parade.

That would be wild.

Going from working for a non-profit (Executive Director of PATH [People Assisting the Homeless]) to Chair of the House Oversight Committee at the beginning of an impeachment investigation in under a year as a 32 year old.

No pressure on her or anything.

Can't imagine she would get it. But there isn't really an obvious choice. Lots of other newbies on the comittee.

I really have no idea how these work. How do people get on committees in the first place? I think I remember that AOC wanted to be on some committee but Pelosi wouldn't let her because she wasn't senior enough.

Where it is wild, what are the chances that she gets run over by seasoned hacks if she is elevated? That is just a spitball type question.

Carolyn Maloney is interim chair. She's been in Congress for almost three decades.

There are a bunch of longterm Dems on the committee.

What I didn't realize, until I ran for the state house, and that I assume is also true of the U.S. House, is that they get paid extra for being on committees, and the higher the profile of the committee, the better, both for your campaign rolodex and for your personal wallet.

Gotta love government!

All house members outside of top leadership make the same.

But it's a lot easier to raise money for re-election if you're on Ways and Means and Financial Services than if you're on Agriculture and Veterans Affairs.

I don't know much about her. She passed out in public last week.

Democrats are a lot more wedded to seniority in picking their committee chairs than Republicans are, which has its plusses and minuses.

I'm sure that check from the Saudi's will be arriving the same day as the check from Mexico...

@lbarronlopez
Pelosi says Trump told her during meeting that reason he pulled troops out of Syria was because of promise he made on campaign to bring them home.

Pelosi told Trump: “Is Saudi Arabia home?”

Pelosi says Trump responded: Saudis are “paying for it.”

So are we. Just in different ways and for a longer period of time.

Yeah I know there a few. Just meant in so much that none of them are big faces, if that makes sense outside of the freshmen who are on it.
