Any thoughts on her, JH? Is she up for the task at hand?

I'm surprised she's still in Congress to be honest. I was in media training session w her and she just started spouting half sentences like a switch got jammed. I told my boss the story later that day and she said "she just hasn't been the same since her husband died". That was 5 years ago.

What I didn't realize, until I ran for the state house, and that I assume is also true of the U.S. House, is that they get paid extra for being on committees, and the higher the profile of the committee, the better, both for your campaign rolodex and for your personal wallet.

Gotta love government!

All house members outside of top leadership make the same.

But it's a lot easier to raise money for re-election if you're on Ways and Means and Financial Services than if you're on Agriculture and Veterans Affairs.

What if you are the rep from Iowa?

Trump called the Italian president “president mozzarella” and said that the US and Italy have a shared history going all the way back to Ancient Rome. Okay.

@maggieNYT
In the middle of the impeachment inquiry, Mulvaney announces the G7 will be held at Trump's club, the Doral, next year, during WH briefing.

Doral was "by far and away the best physical facility for this meeting," Mulvaney says. Quotes a site-selection official telling him, "It's almost like they built this facility to host this type of event."

It literally edged out Mar-A-Lago as the site they picked

Chrissy Houlahan and The Badasses are very concerned about actually voting on an official impeachment inquiry.

Somehow this is getting a lot less publicity than their initial announcement. Wonder why?

@peterbakernyt

Mulvaney says the Ukraine aid was in fact tied to Trump’s desire for an investigation of supposed Ukrainian collaboration with Democrats in 2016. He describes it as one of three factors, the other two being a general concern about corruption and a belief Europe should do more.

Mulvaney: It’s fine for the president to use whoever he wants in foreign policy, including his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, as long as it doesn’t break any laws.

Narrator: They broke many laws.

It would be pretty sweet if by the time the G7 rolls around that Trump can't attend from jail and the club is owned by the US Government.

On the other hand, it would really suck if by the time the G7 rolls around that we are all living in a post-apocalyptic nightmare.

Shocking at first, but I could be persuaded "mozzarella" is an understandable malapropism for "Mattarella" considering the unfamiliarity of the language, and it's not like American forms of law and government were not, in fact, influenced by the Republican model of Ancient Rome.

I guess what I am saying is: it looks sillier than it is.
