The last 24 hours have been a gift from God for Trump. It's absolutely stunning how little feel these people have for actual voters in this country. The Democrats actually had a decent chance to win back the White House next year. All they had to do was avoid acting crazy. They are about to go above and beyond in that regard and almost guarantee Trump's re-election.

Much like my post before the primaries started in 2016 where I said Trump would win and exactly how he would win, save this post for historical reference.

All your predictions aside, how do you feel about your president enlisting a foreign government to aid in his re-election bid?

Couldn't care less.

Nor did any of you when anyone else did it in the past.

weak deflection. you are a fool.

Brantt isn't a true American. He gives zero fucks about the Constitution. If Obama was caught asking Putin for dirt on McCain or Romney he would have called for his execution for being a treasonous bastard.

The truly amazing thing is Trump thinks that transcript exonerates him.

Oh, it's more than possible.

Where have you been the past 3 years?

Well its good to see you acknowledge the scumbaggery of this Administration since it began (and even when it was still just a candidacy). Too bad that acknowledgment isn't enough to make you turn away from fealty to your master.

Asking a foreign government to look into an american citizen whom you might be facing in an upcoming election seems bad imo?

Naaa. We routinely trade javelin missiles for investigations into US citizens.

Wow. Impeachment over this?

What a nothing (non-quid pro quo) burger.

Democrats have lost their minds when it comes to President @realDonaldTrump.

smh... wasted all that damn energy on the russian thing. conspiracy, conspiracy, treason, treason.

now something legitimate surfaces that should concern everyone and instead of being treated seriously as a bipartisan issue, the guy will come out of this looking like a martyr. if trump showed whatever intelligence he may possess, had one iota of likability and got a new haircut, regardless of his policies, many of which i and most don't approve of, he would win the next election in a landslide.

but this is like watching the penn state/pitt game a couple of weeks ago.

I really hope he's the next one to go down in scandal. I dislike him way more than McConnell, Cruz and the others.

would be pretty shocked if this was the only time trump did something like this too. this is how he has run his entire life, operating like a third rate mob boss.

swishnicholson wrote:Obviously the latest developments have not had time to really show up in a poll aggregator like 538, but FWIW Trump is at the closest to Obama's approval rating at the same point in his term as he has ever been: 42.4 on day 977 compared to 42.5 for Obama. That was the low point for Obama in his first term, though, as he began a steady climb toward 50% before the election.

Update: now surging ahead of Obama's numbers, as the American people celebrate the Imperial Presidency or a Bad Episode of Veep or whatever this.

Seat of the pants observation-the talk of impeachment continues to harm Democrats more than help, as people not deeply involved in the process get confused how they there can be talk of this while they are also getting inundated with election news-there's a process in place to remove the President, so why bother with this extra distraction? :dh: :dh: :dh:

C'mon dude.........that's beneath you.

In incidents just involving Ukraine recently, Biden literally went on TV and bragged that he was going to get the United States government to withhold aid from Ukraine unless the prosecutor investigating his son was fired. In the summer of 2018, Menendez and Dick Durbin sent a letter to Ukraine's prosecutor general saying he needed to re-open 4 closed investigations that they believed were critical to the Mueller report. The letter stated their support for US financial assistance to Ukraine was at stake if the investigations were not re-opened.

I didn't care about that then and neither did any of you. I've been completely consistent and you have not. It's anything goes to get Trump. Politics is a dirty business and this stuff happens every day. BFD.

I know this is a stupid little thing in the whole grand scheme of things, but the President of the United States' twitter handle has "real" in front of his actual name and he actually, apparently, owns the @donaldtrump twitter but that has just one tweet and it directs people to the REALDonaldTrum twitter.
man I drew all these penises for nothing - housh

Brantt I think you mean Biden (and the US and the EU and the IMF) wanted to remove this prosecutor who was a Russian stooge (blocking prosecution of corruption and oligarchs) whose office had not touched an investigation of his son in more than a year and also ultimately found no wrong doing. But 'he went on TV and bragged about firing the guy investigating his son' is definitely the same thing.

Durbin/Menendez letter may have mentioned withholding aid in order to help an investigation that they believed would benefit their country, not their election campaigns.

Are you doing this on purpose or do you actually believe this stuff?
