According to the Speaker, that old Republican chestnut: Privatization! Rather than selling bonds, better to just give the infrastructure to cronies and let them charge the citizens for use!

The same reason they're still in the race, to run down Bernie and Warren.

Trump: "I Think The Washington Post Is A Russian Asset"

Mitch McConnell is a man that knows less about Russia and Russian influence than even Donald Trump, and I know nothing.

Read those last three words in your favorite version of Sergeant Schultz.

For what it's worth, I actually believe Trump when he says he doesn't know anything how about Russian influence. He soundly rejected it and probably simply ignores it every time it comes up. no matter who's has it, or how many times he hears it, he can't comprehend it.

Delaney is the reincarnation of Tim Conway.

"I think that John Ratcliffe is going to do an incredible job, if he gets approved," Trump told reporters at the White House, adding later: "I think we need somebody like that that's strong and can really rein it in. As you've all learned, the intelligence agencies have run amok. They've run amok."

We really are headed toward a dictatorship, aren't we?

Well, the 22nd Amendment prevents that.

Delaney barely beat Dan Bongino in a D+6 district

why he got so much time in this debate is beyond me and CNN should be ashamed of itself

MSNBC is weird as shit sometimes. Matthews really setting up these nobodies like Ryan and Delaney to further get shots in at Sanders who he said has been going down in the polls for awhile (which isn't true).

Looking ahead to September, it’s another two night set up, with candidates needing 130k individual donors and greater than 2% in at least 4 legit polls. Seven appear to be locked in:

Biden
Sanders
Warren
Harris
Buttigieg
O’Rourke
Booker

I think Klobuchar and Yang probably make it, and Castro has an outside shot. If 10 is the number, do they stick with the drawing to determine the lineup or do they go with kids table and actual contenders? At this point, it seems like we are down to 5 viable candidates (Pete is on the fringe of that in polling, but the media likes him so he’s not going away yet).

Pundits seem divided on who had good performances at the debate, although Warren is pretty unanimous, and Sanders and probably Buttigieg came out well. A losing night for O'Rourke seems to be a general consensus, though.

These debates aren't about identifying the best candidate or anything like that. They're about ratings for cable news shows. Don't watch them.

I never do. But the perception becomes the reality, so I do try to track the perception.

I don't give a rats ass about the field of 200, will not invest time in listening to 10 minutes of discussion from each candidate, and already believe that half to them, or more, should be on the bench. I also see little benefit to anyone other then cable news, talking heads, and loud mouths denigrating the field. Team Trump might have a point that they hardly need to work to find an angle, just exploit a tear from the infighting.

Beto looks like he's old and young at the same time. He looks like a high schooler cosplaying a middle aged man. Tim Ryan is frankenstein's monster. John Delaney looks like Wallace Shawn.

This has been your white dude debate analysis.

Warren was good.

He hates Trump and knows what is coming if the Dems go down the Sanders/Warren road.
