On the other hand, fire will destroy those sensitive documents much better than shredding will.

My shredder cuts out when it gets over heated. I figured they all did, especially since shredding produces bit of paper dust that are probably quite flammable.

One of the beaches here is currently being evacuated for a bomb threat. What a mess.

Damn that's a bummer to see. Pretty despicable behavior, worse than the lawn at Camden.

I did two 12-hour drives this week with three little kids. Next week, Everest.

SPEAKING OF little kids, there was this little kid at Publix today who was having a complete meltdown for like 5 minutes straight for the entire store to hear.

"I WANT MY PEPPERONI BACK! I WANT MY PEPPERONI BACK! I WANT MY PEPPERONI BACK!" was all he kept screaming.

Normally, a kid freaking out like that would drive me insane, but I had sympathy for the little guy. How are you going to take away a man's pepperoni? Horrible.

When someone shares a video of a multiparty brawl at Disneyland, you watch. Start @ ~20 seconds in.

If you were to install a medicine cabinet in your storage space-less bathroom in your rental unit would you ask permission from your landlord? Feel like it's a better to ask forgiveness type situation. And not a recessed one, but just one that I'll need a few screw anchors or possibly toggle bolts for.

I mean, I'd patch the holes and put the shitty mirror they have up now back on when we leave and they wouldn't be worse for wear.

But I assume they'd say yes and I'd be responsible for any damage, etc. And hell, I'd leave it installed when we move out if they want the upgrade. Free medicine cabinet!

In VA renting from a private owner you have to assume that you are never seeing the security deposit back. I put up a temporary border in a bathroom, and there was a match head size scald in the cheap laminate in the kitchen and the owner kept my $1500. Ironically in another bath there was a border that he put up and he used staples that predictably rusted. I made a few calls and was told that I had nothing that would justify a complaint.

When we moved in, right after the owner, he left a hole the size of a toddler in the wall of the living room that was hidden behind a sofa. A real prince this guy.

Anyway, I was told that the smartest thing I should have done was short the rent for the last month and let him take it out of the deposit I was never going to see again. That was the hindsight advice from a lawyer. Like any good lawyer, he sent me a bill for the opinion.
