People that self identify as libertarian are a different breed. Basically, they care a lot less about governing through polls than anyone else.

Eh, Amash doesn't have the weight of an entire party's chances in perhaps the most consequential presidential election in US history on his shoulders.

Impeachment would be an exercise in futility since they don't have the 67 votes in the Senate to convict. Why do Trump's job of revving up his base for him?

I mostly agree with this and appreciate the pickle she is in, but maybe a lot more people would get behind the idea if the leader of the party, who has the ear of the media, was making a case for why it should happen. The american people need to be convinced and then they will convince their republican representatives by threatening to oust them if they don't rid the country of the cancer in the WH. I'm not saying it isn't risky or that it wouldn't take courage, but it's the only way it's going to happen. I have hope she's biding her time until the appropriate info becomes public and the depth of the corruption becomes impossible to refute.

Cuccinelli being positioned for a top job at DHS. He is a former AG for Virginia. He is a really smart person in my estimation, but he is also a super partisan. Also, he is a cheerleader for the administration especially in the vein of immigration. I respect his intellect, and appropriately voted against him every time he was on the ballot.

Trump's equation is so pathetically easy:

he is a cheerleader for the administration especially in the vein of immigration = positioned for a top job at DHS
Barr is pro-Trump and writes a 20-page memo trashing the Mueller report (pre-AG) = nomination/confirmation for AG
Kavanaugh writes that president's should be above the law (essentially) = get that MFer on the SC


The list goes on and on. I am not so naive to think that patronage doesn't happens; I know it does, a lot. But this president takes it to a whole new level. There are people in very high level positions simply because they are sycophants.
