[April] Ryan, a CNN political analyst who covers the White House for American Urban Radio Networks, was having none of that on Monday. “She [Sarah Sanders] has acknowledged that she lied under oath,” she said. “You can’t trust her. End of story.”

She added, “She’s been caught in lie after lie. It’s beyond spin. She speaks for the president, so it’s life and death. In any other job, if someone acknowledged they lied under oath, they’d be gone. They’d be terminated.”

After Ryan called for Trump to “start lopping the heads off” of discredited officials, including Sanders, Sanders’s father, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, called the comment “an incitement to murder” on Twitter. He asked if the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) would revoke Ryan’s press credential, apparently unaware that the WHCA doesn’t issue press credentials. Sanders told “Fox & Friends” that the comment was “a new low for the liberal media.”

Sweet Lord, that Huckabee Stupid Apple did not fall far from the tree, did it? So to get the order right, is Mike concerned that Don will act on April's statement and kill Sarah? source

The Huckabees are awful people. And complicit in the high crimes committed by Trump.

Unless I am misunderstanding the facts, I do think that April Ryan's statement is a little misleading. In the case of Huckabee Sanders, the "acknowledgement" came under oath, the lie was not under oath (it was in the press room), right?

Reporting on CNN (TV blaring) that the WH told people to just skip talking to or answering subpoenas from Congress. Just don't show up. Its part of the narrative that the House has no say or authority in anything. Exec privilege is the next beach head. Courts will be really busy dealing with the WH.

Her job is to lie to the American people. The fact that she admitted she lies on Trump's behalf probably means that Trump is less likely to fire her.

It's probably bad that I lived through Ron Ziegler and Ari Fleischer. Sarah barely fazes me.

Would a person that ignores a subpoena from Congress get held in contempt of court and be picked up by police and jailed? Because that would be...in a word...awesome.

They could arrest people, but they won't, because then Trump would start arresting people for made-up reasons. Refusing oversight by Congress..... we are at the cusp right now. This is Turkey. He's going to keep pushing. There are no norms that he won't break and no line he won't cross. People are already cowed because they know he will cross these lines. And he's weeded out the people in his administration that aren't willing to break laws, so he almost has all the pieces in place to be the autocrat he really wants to be.

People should be in the streets over this, but they are exhausted by the outrage. When he first started down this road, Luzinski's Gut said that Trump was trying to fatigue the populace by doing outrageous things. Those weren't his exact words, but it was something to that effect. I thought it was true at the time and we are seeing the results now. I honestly think we're fucked if the courts back him up and I'm pretty sure they will.

Contempt of Congress is a federal misdemeanor, punishable by a maximum $100,000 fine and a maximum one-year sentence in federal prison.

Start doling it out! User the $100K to finance the stay at Allenwood. Maybe commute sentences to re-subpoena and get back on the ride.

WH and Sr officials were told not to talk about 2020 election threats to Trump because he cannot/will not accept the information, and then he will shutter communications from the person/department.

What a joke this man-child is.

Is he trying to say that an impeachment hearing is unconstitutional?

I think sort of. His bend seems to be that it is not congresses job to provide oversight (investigate), they are to legislate (that might surprise them). Also, that the VP is actually in charge of the House.

Robert Costa

@costareports

President Trump called me this evening, in response to my request for comment on a profile story on a Trump World figure. After speaking on that topic, he took a few questions about his administration's standoff with Congress. We'll publish those remarks tonight.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

I didn’t call Bob Costa of the Washington Post, he called me (Returned his call)! Just more Fake News.

He just confirmed the reporters account and then called it fake news.

Idk, to be completely fair, if what Trump said is accurate (a big "if"), if I call you and leave a message, and then you call me back, and then I tell the world "Well The Sarge called me and he said...." I may be strictly accurate, but I am obscuring the whole truth.
