President Donald Trump’s support for shifting more power to states took a back seat Wednesday to his affinity for oil and gas production as he moved to make it harder for states to block pipelines and other energy projects due to environmental concerns. At the urging of influential business groups, Trump was to sign two executive orders designed to speed up oil and gas pipeline projects. The action comes after officials in Washington state and New York used the permitting process to stop new energy projects in recent years. The Trump administration insisted that it’s not trying to take power away from the states but, rather, trying to make sure that state actions follow the intent of the Clean Water Act.

Trump’s move comes less than a week after nearly a dozen business groups told EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler that the environmental review and permitting process for energy infrastructure projects “has become a target for environmental activists and states that oppose the production and use of fossil fuels.” The groups said in an April 5 letter that individual states shouldn’t be able to use provisions of the Clear Air Act “to dictate national policy, thereby harming other states and the national interest and damaging cooperative federalism.”

Yeah, fuck the 10th Amendment.

He couldn't really have said this, could he? Even he isn't that dumb. Right?

President Donald Trump on Wednesday suggested that it didn’t really matter whom he picked to replace Kirstjen Nielsen as head of Homeland Security — because the one who really runs the show at DHS is him.

“Frankly, there’s only one person who is running it. You know who that is? It’s me!”

I think how narrow/weak the indictment is also a good sign. If I’m reading the twitter reactions correctly the DoJisng going after the publishing of the leaks but the fact that he allegedly tried to hack more information and instructed Manning to hack.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

LOL fuck this guy too.

@Snowden
Images of Ecuador's ambassador inviting the UK's secret police into the embassy to drag a publisher of--like it or not--award-winning journalism out of the building are going to end up in the history books. Assange's critics may cheer, but this is a dark moment for press freedom.

Assange is no hero but this doesn't seem like a great arrest and it sets a terrible precedent

He should be extradited to Sweden and answer the allegations there

Sort of; they can be brought up again because the reason they were dropped is because he wasn't available to be put on trial

I'm of the mind that this is happening now to help Trump go after whistleblowers. The left will applaud this arrest and that will provide cover when he uses the precedent to go after people who are ratting on his illegal actions.

I would think meddling in the elections of a democracy/republic would make a difference compared to the whistleblowers going after people doing illegal things, but I don't think the press or the public will be able to discern the difference. Our media is seriously broken and that will ultimately be our undoing. Our institutions have been resilient, but I don't know that they've ever been attacked like this from within.

Nobody, repeat nobody is leaking s*** through WikiLeaks. Been there, done that, camped out and waited for the chance to snatch him. Only a total moron would go to WikiLeaks with anything in the last few years

Moreover, since Jules look more and more like a Russian stooge, the game was played out. I mean who really wants to be that guy? The guy who's helping the moron who's getting help from the Russians to destabilise the United States? That is pretty much the exact opposite of what whistleblowers are going for.

Miller floated and advocated for a plan that would have bused people crossing the border to mid and small sized sanctuary cities as some sort of political retaliation against Democrats
