Every vote will count. I think it's going to be closer than dems would like.

Can you do absentee or how does that work?

yes, I can vote absentee. I was a little unsure where to vote though because my last official address was in Nashville, TN, but the address I use for US bills and stuff is in PA. I may have had a choice, but I registered in PA because that seemed the safest legally. If I had a choice, I guess I should have stayed in TN because my vote probably has more power there.

This year, in NC, there's no gubernatorial, senate, or presidential races but there's still higher turnout than 2014. What is motivating these people?

I think there are a couple of things at work in NC.

First, Dems are pissed and motivated.

2nd, the state government is all messed up with a GOP house and senate at odds (to put it mildly) with the Dem governor and constantly trying to usurp his power.

3rd, there are a bunch of state constitutional amendments on the ballot that almost everybody agrees are terrible.

4th, Mark Harris vs Dan McCready

5th, GOPers are motivated

6th, people are a lot more interested in the local/down ballot elections than in past years.

Armed bands of civilian militia members are traveling to the southern U.S. border, where President Donald Trump has ordered thousands of active-duty troops to rebuff the approaching migrant caravan.

About “200 unregulated armed militia members [are] currently operating along the southwest border,“ says a planning document for Army commanders leading the 5,200 troops Trump has deployed at the border, according to Newsweek. The groups “operate under the guise of citizen patrols supporting” border officials, the document says, pointing out “reported incidents of unregulated militias stealing National Guard equipment during deployments.”

I moved out of the NJ 3rd district earlier this year, but I’m still registered to vote there. I decided I’m not setting foot or spending money there again after Election Day if MacArthur wins. I made sure to let my parents know so they’re not expecting me for Thanksgiving or Christmas for the next few years if Kim doesn’t win.

Do you have a plan to vote there tomorrow?

Friends have been canvassing for Kim for about two months. He seems great.

I have a morning meeting that ends at 11 and a customer meeting starting at 2 so I have a pretty big window to stop by and vote. I’m just one district over now so it’s not out of my way.

Perfectly legal to vote one more time at your prior polling location. You need only update for the next election.

I mean, it's not if you moved prior to the registration deadline (three weeks ago). No one will get prosecuted for it or anything as long as you're only voting in once place, but that's the law. If you live in the same county but are in a different jurisdiction you can vote provisionally at your new address even if you haven't updated your registration. If you're in a different county you're not supposed to vote.
