it should find the thread you want even if you're not sure of the search terms

Yeah. I mean, it works fine if you’re searching for words that aren’t super common. But if you’re searching for a real common word, there are too many matches and it just throws up its hands and says NOPE and doesn’t return anything.

(Not a complaint about the job our gracious administrators do with the site obviously )

Depending on exactly what you're trying to find, you could google, in quotes "back she goes" and whatever search terms you're thinking of. For example, googling "back she goes" links you to the "Trout will be a Phillies" thread.
