The CNN panel on this is Jeff Toobin, David Axelrod, Cooper, Tapper and Dana Bash

Would it have killed you to have someone vaguely center right? Gonna make me watch Fox?

Tapper's on it; is Dana Bash considered a political entity?

and anyway, what does the center right believe on this? who is the center right? what power do they hold? anyway, if they were being fair they'd have a right-wing Trump backer on to give the real thought on this

I wonder if any of Kavanaugh's emails from his Bush admin days will be released

Tapper and Cooper are anchors, Bash is a reporter, Toobin is a liberal pundit and Axelrod is a professional Democrat. The center right, anyone from the conservative legal movement, the people who picked this guy. I don't think Donald was pouring over Kavanaugh's opinions, pac. But I'd take a Trump sycophant on there for at least something different.

Nice. Guess he will sit right next to Kylie and M Nigh at the games. Wonder if that will be Hollywood enough for Lebron?

well, that's what I mean, a sycophant is probably the most accurate reflection of who should be up there

it's also pathetic they'd be there, but CNN helped create the mess.

edit: I'm talking political reactions; for actual legal analysis, i'm not sure it matters too much. we all know what's going on.

Brett Kavanaugh to @POTUS: "I have witnessed firsthand your appreciation for the vital role of the American judiciary."

I don’t understand how any member of the judiciary who has a soul can look at Trump and not break into tears.

That's the wrong goalpost. I'm more concerned on the cases that would chip away at Roe. I don't know if the Iowa fetal heartbeat bill will make it to the SCOTUS, but that's one of the more extreme examples of something that could be found, somehow, to coexist with Roe without overturning it.

John McCain @SenJohnMcCain
Judge Brett Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials & a strong record of upholding the Constitution. He is widely respected as a fair, independent & mainstream judge. I look forward to the Senate moving forward with a fair & thorough confirmation process.

Strong statement from Sen. McCain. I hope if his vote matters he's able to make it, and if he isn't, he will resign to allow his replacement to vote to confirm.

that's the kind of thing I was referring to. I would be surprised if that wasn't the reason for the pick. The president is above the law. He's a fucking fascist.

Good, but a bit long, read about Trump and Russia. Basically asks the question, "what if the worst case scenario is true?"

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/20 ... usion.html

What is missing from our imagination is the unlikely but possible outcome on the other end: that this is all much worse than we suspect. After all, treating a small probability as if it were nonexistent is the very error much of the news media made in covering the presidential horse race. And while the body of publicly available information about the Russia scandal is already extensive, the way it has been delivered — scoop after scoop of discrete nuggets of information — has been disorienting and difficult to follow. What would it look like if it were reassembled into a single narrative, one that distinguished between fact and speculation but didn’t myopically focus on the most certain conclusions?
