Where Republicans once stood on principle -- even those principles that were unpopular with the taste arbiters in Hollywood, the media and the intellectual elite -- now we stand, it seems, on Trump and Trump alone.

...

Protectionist policies that invite trade wars with our allies.
At the border, my son was taken from me
At the border, my son was taken from me
Ripping families apart at the border, separating mothers from their infants and children.
A $4.4 trillion budget that increases the deficit to $1 trillion next year.
A stated equivalence between white supremacists and those who would oppose them.
Apologism for the human rights violations of brutal dictators.
A smear campaign against the FBI and our intelligence officers.
If this is the "agenda" Ms. McDaniel insists I support, the answer is of course no. The question is, why would any Republican?

What do you expect the news to do? Run the same story every day? All of these stories are run. They're often run as the A1.

China says 'its a trade war'. Yappers think that this is a negotion ploy, unfortunately that ploy uses American of all flavors as the pawns. Farmers, yep. Market investor, yep. Retirees, yep. (those two are really the same) Everyday Americans purchasing goods, yep.

That is bad. Propagating the propaganda. Spreading the lie, and legitimizing it with @AP.

It's also based on economic ignorance. One mistake is the use of the word "deficit" which leads people to think that since a budget deficit is bad, a trade deficit is also bad. Of course, this is incorrect, especially when applied to individual countries. Rich countries will almost always run a trade deficit with poor countries, since people in rich countries buy more stuff.

I don't even think a budget deficit is bad; it's what you're spending the money on.

Trump will use this IG report as an excuse to pardon anyone indicted as a result of the Mueller probe.

In a WP piece about things that almost flipped the Summit because of gut feel and general angst, it says these two things:

an antsy and bored Trump urged his aides to demand that the meeting with Kim be pushed up by a day — to Monday — and had to be talked out of altering the long-planned and carefully negotiated summit date on the fly, according to two people familiar with preparations for the event.

“We’re here now,” the president said, according to the people. “Why can’t we just do it?”

SoS and Sanders talked him down by telling him that Tuesday maximizes wall to wall TV coverage.

At one point, after watching North Korean television, which is entirely state-run, the president talked about how positive the female North Korean news anchor was toward Kim, according to two people familiar with his remarks. He joked that even the administration-friendly Fox News was not as lavish in its praise as the state TV anchor, one of the people added, and that maybe she should get a job on U.S. television, instead.

At another point, Trump marveled at how “tough” the North Korean guards seemed, noting that they were always stone-faced and refused to shake hands, the two people said. One recalled the president joking that they could probably take on White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, a retired four-star Marine general. A second did not remember the president specifically mentioning Kelly, but just noting more generally that Kim’s guards seemed formidable.

He is so in love with the way that dictators operate. He so wants a totalitarian regime in his image.

His tweet, of course, conveniently leaves out that Comey's Oct 28, 2016 letter to Congress regarding Clinton's emails likely played a big part in him winning. The FBI sure was in the bag.

Anyone else think that Mattis wants to retire? By force if necessary? Since he keeps saying things that are opposite of whatever DJT says/tweets in the morning, it is pretty crazy. This time was at the NWC where he was lambasting Putin and his objectives VS Don saying that he would like to sit down with Putin and return Russia to the G-8.

Axios: Trump said Crimea is Russian because people there speak Russian

Where else was that reported? RT. RT also reports it as "Trump says Crimea is part of Russia"

This is just a dribble out of the G7

Giuliani is a big Biden fan apparently
“Joe Biden is a moron,” he said, claiming that Biden finished last in his law school class at Syracuse University and had been unable to understand issues Giuliani tried to discuss with him when he was a federal prosecutor and Biden was a Delaware senator. “I’m calling Joe Biden a mentally deficient idiot.”

Steve steward of Utah is the stupidest person I have seen in a long time. He claims to have no knowledge of any negative thing Trump has said. He claims that he does not twitter, so he has no idea what Trump has tweeted, nor has he read what Trump has said about anything (SHole countries, anything with Sessions, etc.). he is not very believable.

OMFG -

Rudy Giuliani on Friday claimed the Russia investigation could get “cleaned up” with pardons from President Trump in light Paul Manafort being sent to jail.

“When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons,” the former New York mayor told the Daily News.

Another G7 Drip

Trump told [Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo] Abe he’s lucky that his country doesn’t have to deal with an influx of migrants, like the U.S. or European countries.

“Shinzo, you don’t have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you’ll be out of office very soon,” Trump said, a senior EU official told the Wall Street Journal.

The comment made others in the room uncomfortable, “but everyone tried to be rational and calm,” the official told the newspaper.

Ironically, xenophobia is in fact a huge problem for Japan, which desperately needs immigration to solve its demographic problems.

No real denying it anymore.

It is going to be absolutely incredible when this eventually blows up in their faces. Trump will ultimately be the death of the GOP.

Ive been hearing about the death of the GOP for 3 years now, when is it going to finally croak?

It's stronger than ever. The Republic is dead.

The only thing that unseats sitting Presidents is the economy. If it goes south, Trump pays the price. If unemployment stays at 3.9%, four more years.

What we know about capitalism is that the next recession is not an "if," but a "when."

Right. So focus on the big threads, generate themes, and start connecting it together.

It’s not hard.

His charity committed fraud. Manafort and Corey committed fraud. Pruitt is committing fraud. THESE ARE CHARACTER TRAITS. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE SURROUNDING HIM.

stop spending time on “the history of KJU and the way NKs salute him” jack tapper.
