It's pretty great that the catered picnic was cancelled because a lot going on but he still finds time to go to Duluth to stroke his ego.

"With Peter Strzok and his lover, Lisa Page," he continued. "I don't think their wife and husband were too happy about that, what do you think, what do you think?"

So separating kids will be back on in 20 days.

Technically you can't have a child in detention for more than 20 days. Since their parents are in detention, the children will have to be taken after 20 days. Trump will then say the courts forced them to do it.

The administration has fingered Flores v. Reno, or the “Flores settlement,” as the reason it is “forced” to separate parents from their children to prosecute them. It claims that because it cannot keep parents and children in immigration detention together, it has no choice but to detain parents in immigration detention (after they’ve been criminally prosecuted for illegal entry) and send the children to the Department of Health and Human Services as “unaccompanied alien children.”

Not sure I've written this down here, but my thesis within the office is Trump has the power to destroy in GOP primaries (Flake, Corker, etc.) but his active voice to GOP primary voters is way more limited than is portrayed. We'll get two tests of this next Tuesday (NY-11 and SC-Gov) where the Trump endorsee should be running away with it anyway as the incumbent. But think Grimm is def the favorite in NY-11 and SC-Gov might be competitive when it has no right to be.

In some ways this Trump as destroyer but impotent as savior is the worst of all worlds because most of the candidates he's endorsing are the ones I would hope would win. The places he's failed (most notably Alabama Senate), he's usually been on the right side. And this being a problem is embarrassing in its own right.

report from the Facebook trenches: some guy tried arguing with a friend of mine that splitting up families is the law (it isn't) and then showed a picture of Elian Gonzalez as proof that it had been done for years and started under Clinton. also, my friend is herself a DACA recipient and knows the ins and outs of the law since she works for an immigrant rights advocacy group. LOL!

The plan to celebrate Charolettesville is a rally in DC in Lafayette Square, which is Between H and Pennsylvania Ave, or basically at the White House. It is being organized by the same behind 'fight for the right'. The permits have been granted by the park service.

As there was last year, I am sure that there will be organized counter protests. That organization is key as there will be training about what to, and not to do, as well as what to do if there is a situation, where medical assistance will be, etc. As soon as I know something about the training and planning I will post it so you can visit me in DC in August.

They probably got that from Charlie Kirk who tweeted the famous Gonzalez image and said the same thing. Very honest people on the right. Not even sure he was in anything beyond kindergarten when that happened.

Some of the naysaying about the NYT I feel is overblown, but how is this article written? Let alone with this headline and tweetline?

Surprising take from them, giving that after his State of the Union (I believe) they called him Amnesty Don for pretending to show compassion towards DACA recipients.
