you don't construct and sign an agreement in the course of two months that is of any real substance

we agreed to suspend joint military exercises with South Korea, which isn't actually in the agreement.

the entire thing:
President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a first, historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.
President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive, in-depth and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new US-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Convinced that the establishment of new US-DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following:

The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new US-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
The United States and DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.
Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula
The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

Having acknowledged that the US-DPRK summit -- the first in history -- was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in the joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the US-DPRK summit.
President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new US-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and the security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.

lol

Trump's only explanation for why North Korea won't cheat this time is 'we have a new president and secretary of state'

this is simply a reiteration of what they previously agreed to and broke. the major difference this time appears to be that there were cameras.

Union workers stay overnight on Capital steps to protest upcoming Supreme Court decision:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- - An upcoming Supreme Court decision about union rights is causing workers to protest nationwide, including the Capital City.

On Monday, protesters stayed overnight on the Capitol building's stairs to send a message to lawmakers.

"We're not going anywhere. We're here for the duration until what happens has to happen, and tomorrow, we'll be here all day again," said Donna Heimbach, healthcare union worker.

What they want is lawmakers' support for unions.

At 4:39 p.m. on Monday, Representatives Dan Miller and Ed Neilson showed their support by introducing a resolution in the General Assembly to support union workers and collective bargaining to ensure fair pay.

On CBS21:
Andy Hilt, an SEIU member, says,
“The Janus decision is something that is being supported by corporations to make sure that working people don’t have the right to collective bargaining and to union representation.”

hey, i hope it works, but it probably won't because now is the hard part and the work.

fwiw, we had a great agreement with a country that was on the road to nuclearization and we and our allies negotiated a strong, smart agreement that derailed their program for at least ten years. Trump just went out of that one! perhaps this is why people don't believe the guy.

@ least the Korean War is over. Thank you South Korea for committing to that in your talks with the North.

Now my favort part of the historic document signed is: "Having acknowledged that the US-DPRK summit -- the first in history -- was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in the joint statement fully and expeditiously."

Only this president signs stuff that is chocked full of superlatives without any real substance. Every time he signs something, he thinks that he's done something. We should just get him an autograph booth in exchange for his leaving office.

Does this pave the way for a Nobel? It should not, not even by a stretch. Get it all done.

Supreme Court may release opinions this Thursday Pac. Who knows if Janus will be a part of it, but just FYI.

I am not sure where I saw it, but over the last few days there was an interview about DJT habit of tearing things up when he is done with them. They think it is his way of organizing. If it is ripped up, then it was dealt with. Easy enough. Unfortunately he is tearing things up that are supposed to be preserved as presidential record to the archive. He is making the conservators and librarians crazy.

I definitely saw it on TV, but local stations bring in folks from Politico, The Hill, etc. all the time because they can. Same with National talent base in DC. Chuck Tod makes infrequent appearances to voice a national topic more or less because he was in the studio next door.

Yea, original thought that next week would be the first two opinion day week, but who knows. The Court holds conferences on Thursday already, which is why it will most likely be the 2nd opinion day (along with Mondays) here on out.

The illegitimate "news" source the Federalist published a opinion piece that outlines an Obama led cabal using the IC to set up DJT. It even weaves Jeff Sessions into the mix. Wacky, terrible, and just bluster but soon people will crow about it as if it is actual fact.

I'm no expert, but it seems to me giving up joint exercise with S. Korea is a pretty bad idea. Seems like this is not just to the benefit of N. Korea, but also China and Russia.

See TV trump was right, you are tired of winning. See we gave something up, a very expensive something, because we love our troops and stand for the American flag national anthem, and it is the right thing to do. NK is agitated by those exercises, and they are really very expensive, so America is winning because our budget will be spared the pain of readiness of the troops, which we love.

The best part, and this is no small thing, is that if they're talking it's less likely Trump takes the walrus man's advice and turns north korea to rubble.

Hey, you know what's great? Inflation. Inflation has not been this great since 2012. It accelerating faster then it has in 6 years, and it has the added benefit of eroding wages.

U.S. inflation accelerated in May to the fastest pace in more than six years, reinforcing the Federal Reserve’s outlook for gradual interest-rate hikes while eroding wage gains that remain relatively tepid despite an 18-year low in unemployment.

The consumer price index rose 0.2 percent from the previous month and 2.8 percent from a year earlier, matching estimates, a Labor Department report showed Tuesday. The annual gain was the biggest since February 2012 and follows a 2.5 percent increase in April. Excluding food and energy, the core gauge was up 0.2 percent from the prior month and 2.2 percent from May 2017, also matching the median estimates of economists.
