Pac, in your article, there is also this tidbit: the state House is set to legalize payday lending.

Provably a horrible thing as demonstrated in just about every state. PA is moving backwards.

Wolf would veto; Wagner, running for governor, wouldn't

If Donald was president at the start of WW2, which side do you think the US would have joined?

I hope so. I am honestly concerned that extremists are picking up victories. These folks were largely rejected in the last round of voting. I am frankly afraid of the nut jobs as it has an ugly feeling that they feel emboldened to come out into the sunshine. As an an independent running in VA-10 is an admitted white nationalist, self acknowledged pedophile, and thinks that any form of rape is ok, then the world is in a very strange orbit. He has no chance of winning, but was there ever a time where this type of person with these three distinctions could actually get the 1000 signatures to run?

Having extremists as the GOP candidates will just make it worse when the Russians combined with Trump combined with the normal GOP electoral shenanigans brings an unexpected win for the GOP this fall. Is there any doubt that they will try to cheat? No other norm or law is sacred, but the ones regarding their ability to stay in power and out of jail will be honored?

There's no way we don't have something awful coming this fall. There will be chaos and lies and cops at polling stations, etc, etc, and it can't be undone after the election is over because we don't have a system in place for challenging things on that level.

I'm feeling really pessimistic lately. I think we're already fucked and it's too late. Too many levers have been compromised. It's much worse than we think.

Then they backstop it with the over the top praise that the same gave Trump for meeting with KJU. then they took it further to run MSNBC going to the mat for Obama meeting Castro, but shelling Trump. Of course Fox News was like a 5 minute parade unloading almost all their on air staff. Fair and balanced indeed.

thephan wrote:Honestly that was pretty surprising to me. The GOP was rallying behind Sanford. Katie Arrington used Sanford's criticism of Trump as the center piece of her campaign, Trump hypocritically made Sanford marital fidelity an issue. In addressing her victory Ms. Arrington said, “We are the party of Donald J. Trump.” SC being SC you could say, but other elections also show a more disturbing trend in this hyper partisan era.

It's pretty hard to be a Republican and run against Trump these days, as Republicans in Congress have all bent the knee to Trumpism, or resigned. Pundits say the SC primary results show why they must do this. But there were things the Republicans in Congress and elsewhere could have done to marginalize Trump and Trumpism. The reality though is that they really never cared. If Trumpism gets them what they want (tax cuts, white supremacy, continued transfer of wealth upwards) they're on board. And now it's too late. So, if embracing Trumpism means embracing Kim Jong Un, they're on board.

Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt last year had a top aide help contact Republican donors who might offer his wife a job, eventually securing her a position at a conservative political group that has backed him for years, according to multiple individuals familiar with the matter.

The job hunt included Pruitt’s approaching wealthy party supporters and conservative figures with ties to the Trump administration. The individuals said he enlisted Samantha Dravis, then serving as associate administrator for the EPA’s Office of Policy, to line up work for his wife.

That from Tulsa World which is apparently a paper.

seriously, what does he have to do ethically that is too much? Too far?

@realDonaldTrump
So funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN. They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea. 500 days ago they would have “begged” for this deal-looked like war would break out. Our Country’s biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools!

What deal with North Korea?

no way he did not have help with that. Promulgated would clearly have been butchered.

as to the deal, that is the one where KJU thinks about his path to becoming a responsible world citizen, and DJT gives him whatever he asks for. Its in the buddy movie trailer.

The Mark Sanford handwringing is a bit much considering he was stuck at 56% in his last primary, and he has a ton of personal baggage above and beyond anything from skirmishing with Trump. If he was rah-rah Trump he probably would've won, but if he was popular to begin with or if he had run a real race (looks like he had no staff and ended up with over $1 mil in the bank), he'd also have won.

The Corey Stewart shit is pretty effing awful tho

Love the 500 days detail-No, Donald, that was 300 or so days ago, when you were squarely in office, that N.Korea embarked on a series of missile tests designed to sow an air of danger in the region and bring you to the table.

He is horrible. He will run a hate driven campaign that scorches the earth. He has basically promised that. the target of his ire is Tim Kane, who is sort of the vanilla of politicians, so this will be an exercise in pain.

I used to tick off how many launches under Trump VS every other president. DJT was clearly the winner. Some would say that KJU scared him into coming to the table to cut a deal.

NK/KJU is trotting out promises that DJT made. Funny we did not hear about lifting sanctions from Don. Sadly, I guess NK heard about it from the queen of propaganda who came out of retirement to showcase NK's mastery of negotiation.
