Legitimizing the North Korean Dictator without getting anything in return is not good politics, and hopefully something that will be remembered.

Trump can try and lower expectations as much as he wants, but just by showing up to meet Kim Jong-un he's giving up a lot.

TBH, whether we legitimize him or not he's still there.

Reports that KJU might leave as early as 2PM. It's very obvious the summit is just a photo op for him and we gain nothing. Art of the deal!

All politics being local, my current representative, Barbara Comstock, who has a pretty iffy record in my book, is being opposed on every angle. There are like 6 Dems, an independent (who should never get more then his own single vote), and she is being primaried by a guy maned Shak Hill (I saw signs with nothing else but that name on it and was trying to figure out if it was a new burger place or some kind of clothier).

The independent is a truly horrible person who advocates pedophilia, white supremacy and rape, and who served 16 months in prison for threatening to kill the president.

One of the Dem contenders in the primary named Julia Biggins, whose ad I heard for the first time this morning, touts that as an infectious disease scientist she knows what cancers and other diseases look like, and that is what she see in our current political systems. Also part of her pitch is that the anti-science & fact legislators need to go. The craziest thing about her ad is that she does not mention what district she is running in, er even the state, or who she thinks she would oppose (Comstock). I literally had to look her up, and honestly assumed that she would be working in at Ft. Hood in MD, making her an MD candidate (in fairness it is about a 30-60 minute drive from where she lives in VA to Hood).

I agree with the decision, in so much, that it seems Ohio was compliant with the NVRA. If anything it is up to Ohio or Congress to change the rules around when voters should be removed.

I disagree with the act, but not the Constitutionality of the act.

No Janus today, next opinions will most likely be next Monday (could possibly release opinions again later this week since the term is ending and they have a decent amount of outstanding opinions to issue)

Final (?) nail in the coffin of this being a serious event - US will not discuss human rights at summit.

Well that is surprising because:

President Donald Trump said Friday he plans to address human rights when he meets with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the upcoming Singapore summit. "We'll bring it up," the President told reporters before departing for the G7 Summit.

And he calls Justin Trudeau dishonest and weak.

Pruitt instructed EPA employees to use a “first in, first out” FOIA policy, in which no Trump administration requests would be considered until Obama administration ones are completed.

...

Ryan Jackson, Pruitt’s chief of staff, instructed FOIA staffers to submit all documents involving Pruitt to himself and other aides before release.

Don being Don announced through the WH that he will be leaving immediately after the "summit". He has to beat KJU off the tarmac. One of the "reasons" is that things are going so well so quickly, much quicker then they could have hoped. (smile for the camera)

Fox News host Steve Hilton on Sunday sharply criticized Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in a segment calling out Ross for conflicts of interest with his investments.

Hilton pointed out on his show "The Next Revolution" that Ross co-founded a shipping firm, Nautical Bulk Holdings, that ships steel from South Korea, which is one of the countries that has received an exemption from President Trump’s steel tariffs.

Ross is currently involved in tariff negotiations.

“He’s negotiating over South Korean steel imports while making money from importing South Korean steel,” Hilton said.

Hilton also noted that Ross's chief of staff at the Commerce Department is listed as a director of a business associated with Nautical Bulk Holdings, despite having said last year that she resigned from the company.

Color me confused... KJU & DJT are set to meet shortly? Singapore is +12 hours ahead for EDT, so that "2PM meeting" time is 2PM EDT, better known as 2AM June 12 in Singapore... I always assumed it was Singapore local time.

Trump Doctrine = We're America, Bitches

Posting from my phone so I cannot link it, but an article was published today in The Atlantic that explains Trump's sentiments towards our traditional allies and adversaries. Needless to say, it is no bueno.
