France’s President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday that the G-7 "doesn't mind being six," suggesting that the group doesn’t need the United States.

The French president took a firm stance against President Donald Trump’s isolationist policies, as he spoke in Canada alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“The six countries of the G-7 without the United States are a bigger market taken together than the American market,” Macron said, according to Reuters. “There will be no world hegemony if we know how to organize ourselves. And we don’t want there to be one.”

Directly addressing Trump’s unilateral moves, Macron said: “Maybe the American president doesn’t care about being isolated today, but we don’t mind being six, if needs be.”

This is amazing to me. Used to be friends with Weldons nephew. Was vile when defending his uncle. Claimed HRC basically killed his cousin. Posted about it a bunch on Facebook leading up to the 16 elections.

the Freedom Party says no freedom for you Turks:
BERLIN — Austria's government said Friday that it is closing seven mosques and plans to expel imams in a crackdown on "political Islam" and foreign financing of religious groups.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the government is shutting a hardline Turkish nationalist mosque in Vienna and dissolving a group called the Arab Religious Community that runs six mosques.

The actions by the government are based on a 2015 law that, among other things, prevents religious communities from getting funding from abroad. Interior Minister Herbert Kickl said the residence permits of around 40 imams employed by ATIB, a group that oversees Turkish mosques in Austria, are being reviewed because of concerns about such financing.

Kickl said that, in two cases, permits have already been revoked. Five more imams were denied first-time permits.

The conservative Kurz became chancellor in December in a coalition with the anti-migration Freedom Party.
In campaigning for last year's election, both coalition parties called for tougher immigration controls, quick deportations of asylum-seekers whose requests are denied and a crackdown on radical Islam. The government recently announced plans to ban girls in elementary schools and kindergartens from wearing headscarves, adding to existing restrictions on veils.

"Parallel societies, political Islam and tendencies toward radicalization have no place in our country," Kurz told reporters in Vienna. He added that the government's powers to intervene "were not sufficiently used" in the past.

First lady Melania Trump's spokeswoman pushed back on the assertion that she "believes her husband" about porn star Stormy Daniels's allegation of a 2006 affair.
Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's outside attorney, suggested she took her husband's word on the matter.
"I don't believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani," her spokeswoman said.

Seems like healthcare is fucked. DOJ won’t defend mandate any longer in courts.

Say so long to healthcare if you have a pre existing condition.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Possible silverlining is that Dems may have a mandate to implement single-payer the next time they are in power.

this is what I don't get if you're conservative and republican. you are laying the groundwork for millions of voters to see the only solution as single payer. you'd think they'd want to make this current private insurance subsidization system work so this doesn't happen.

me, I think you absolutely have to run on expanding Medicaid/Medicare and implementing a single payer system for political and moral reasons. their sabotage is only making this more clear.

i almost want them to try and do another repeal this summer. idiots don't know that is when they were the most unpopular.

But then again I'd really prefer they do not succeed, so.

Best fall messaging will be a combination of rising healthcare premiums and showing how much of their own taxes the republicans cut.

Dems don't want single payer, though. there's some posturing right now, but whenever they're in power, they are not interested

i think this is less true these days. obama knew it was almost a non-starter in 2010 and they were still ''thisfuckingclose' to having a public option. i think harris/gillibrand/booker are legitimately for it.

It hasn't been practical before, and we would have had buy-in at 55 if not for Lieberman.

i'm a Dem,i want it. it depends on who makes up the coalition that comes to power. that's why these primaries are so damn important. 2006 and 2008 it was a bunch of a blue dogs that needed to be convinced on the ACA so it wasn't a tenable situation.

I don't blame Trump for this; he is only repeating what his Russian handlers tell him.

Italy's new premier is backing President Donald Trump's call for Russia to return to the group of industrial nations.

Giuseppe Conte tweeted on Friday: "I agree with the President@realDonaldTrump: Russia should go back into the G-8. In the interest of all."

Russia was ousted from the elite G-8 group, now known as the G-7, in 2014 as punishment for President Vladimir Putin's annexation of Crimea and its support for pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine.

Conte's populist coalition includes the right-wing League party which says sanctions on Russia over Ukraine hurt Italian exports. League leader Matteo Salvini who has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin as a great statesmen and says Italy will lobby for the end of European Union sanctions against Russia over the annexation of Crimea.

Conte, a political novice who didn't run for election, is making his international debut at the G-7 meetings in Canada. Salvini and fellow euro-skeptic coalition partner Luigi Di Maio, of the 5-Star Movement, agreed to back Conte so their parties could govern.

I can't even understand which DJT is the real DJT.

Wants to pardon more (for the love) and sit down with protesting player (who should be fired/thrown out of the country) versus the stuff he says on the stump.

The guy who wants to negotiate bilateral deal versus him canceling meetings with world leaders/showing up late (maybe not at all) to the economic summit, and announcing that he is leaving early (before that messy murdering of the environment stuff).

Guiliani on Clifford/Daniels:

"If you're involved in a sort of slimy business, (that) says something about you -- says something about how far you'll go to make money," he said.

How rich is that coming from a lawyer and Trump mouthpiece. I have far more respect for Stephanie Clifford than I ever would for Rudy Guiliani. At least she is honest about fucking people for money.

things you must always remember:

1. what's in it for him? he's a grifter and selfish, so it has to benefit him in some manner
2. he's a troll, so it's always better if something annoys someone he dislikes
3. he wants everything to be HIS way, so he either spins it that he wanted it anyway or if it's not his way he drops out
4. he wants 'people' to like him and agree with him so he gathers up yes-men and he gets mad at whoever isn't appearing as such
