So his VP is who you need to consider.

Me, I'd pick Gillibrand to pair with him and have Warren be in the Senate doing work

I think you're overhyping Bernie. I feel like his biggest appeal in 2016 was he was not Hillary Clinton. A lot of his positions are getting co-opted by the party as a whole, or at least the party is moving in his direction. I would feel differently if he was running away with early polling, but that's not the case. He'll have to fight for it harder than he had to in 2016 since so many will be fired up to take on Trump.

I think a lot of his followers are winning lots of places in lower levels of government and within the party structure. I think it'll go a long way; the major reason he didn't win is he didn't have ANY contacts in the South. that's changed.

I simply think it's the most realistic to expect the #2 person last time who now has had several years in the spotlight to be the frontrunner.

once he had the most delegates it was his. the rest was silly.

it was also always goin to be a tight race and tough for the Democrat to get elected.

it is very strange. he goes back and forth between listening to people to hysterically appealing to his base (which i guess is listening to the crazy people around him). i have brought this up before, but the founder of the the anti-slavery ngo i volunteer for met with trump in the first few week's of his presidency. for whatever reason that conversation stuck with trump and he, sometimes incorrectly and misguided, talks about slavery and how bad it is.

i just dont know why just some of these conversations and meetings get through to him and so many other do not.

the post before mine listed 5 people who could potentially be the Democratic nominee and none of them were him. I figure we should at least mention the most popular one.

I don't think it's going to be Bernie, as I think lots of Dems are pretty pissed at him and his Organizing for America has flopped pretty spectacularly recently. And he's really old. Gillibrand has a shot, as does Booker (though I really fear Booker is something of an empty suit and a bit too cozy with Wall Street and even worse the pharmaceutical industry.)

I'd really like to see the Dems nominate a governor--Hickenlooper for instance. NOT KASICH. NOT CUOMO. Please God no.

p. sure the dems won't nominate kasich

If the Pres pick isn't a woman, Gillibrand will be the VP pick.

Also, Bernie isn't a Democrat. So there's that.

If it ever came out that Bernie was, like much of the far left, receiving backing from the Soviets in his early days, and in fact continued to receive support from the Russians to undermine the Democratic party, that would not be the most shocking thing to come out in twenty first century politics. (In this hypothetical, Bernie probably was unaware of much of this. Also, during the cold war, the CIA also worked to undermine leftist European political parties, most notably the Italian Communist Party. Of course, they really were more or less a branch of the Soviet Communist Party.

Its only a meet and greet now anyway. Dennis Rodman, we love Dennis, will be there. Kim will be there, maybe we can make him a ltttle more calm about the assination thing by bringing our best people. Scott will be there because he's doing great at EPA. And Mike will be there since he knows everyone.

Think Rudy will be there? He probably needs to be on TV somewhere.
