No. On the contrary, it means that everyone should have vans. The best way to stop a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van.

Sad but expected. Your heart feels it when you lose someone who you've been with for 73 years.

Also gives you a blood infection, evidently.

Something for everyone there. Attacking the Special counsel, a "video game" screen grab of a Turk/Greek air assault including F-16s and a Chinook, European fear mongering (the tried and true German special is right there with those lazy Turks storming in to get good German benefits), etc.

York PA making it bigly time in the news cycle:

Black women, including York NAACP head, allege discrimination at Grandview Golf Club

The five women were playing a round of golf Saturday, and were repeatedly confronted by former York County Commissioner Steve Chronister, owner of the course who demanded that they leave. The group are members of the club. After several confrontations, the police were called to remove the group. The next step was to try to throw them out of the club.

The police eventually told them that Grandview wanted to cancel their memberships and had checks ready to give them, Thompson said, but they declined, as they wanted an official letter sent to them in the mail describing why their memberships were being canceled.

the bounce back was that this was just "enforcing the rules of play". The group teed off late because of a frost delay. They voluntarily skipped hole 3 to keep the course moving even.

I don't golf much, but pace of play is a very hot button issue for those that do. I'd been asked to skip a hole to catch up, back in the day. I suspect that more details coming out (eg. it took X hours to complete 9 holes) would help with determining what actually happened. It's very tempting to assume racism, when it could just be that the course owners are not very friendly to unskilled and slow golfers.

That's when they were first asked to speed up. Again, if they took a half hour for hole 1, we get a clearer picture of what happened.

NRA members who own Yeti coolers are loosing their discount. In fact every group that had access to the discount is losing it (not sure who those groups are, but in the outdoor organizations I participate it, I never heard of it). So NRA members are shooting, blowing up, cutting down, smashing, and just plain old throwing away (you would never think of recycling good old American stainless steel now would you) their Yeti stuff. It isn't cheap stuff. The NRA itself put out a letter that basically said that this was an attack on them, and their members, but lumped in a bunch of other outdoor activities that Yeti would be hurting (hikers, bikers, conservationists, etc.).

Yeah, that's a pretty aggressive move from the starter unless they were laying in the grass when they could have been teeing off.

I belonged to a club growing up and while there was no owner (it was equity owned by the members), I have never heard of anyone being asked repeatedly to leave the course. Especially after only playing one hole. If the starter or pro shop lets them go off, even as a group of 5, there is absolutely nothing they could have done to warrant them being yelled at by the 'owner' on hole two short of doing donuts on the green.

If you're a member of a club you're not taking 20 minutes to finish one hole or anything like that. Odds are the dipshit saw the course backed up in general and assumed the black women were to blame.

This is 100% correct. Plus, the first course (he he) of action is not to ask the group to leave, it is simply to ask them to pick up their pace. And then to revoke their membership with checks at the ready? I'd obviously want to hear more details but it sure sounds pretty disgusting.

Anyone mention that it was reported yesterday that the 'never spent the night in Russia' is inconsistent with actual records from a hotel and flight data?

That is a shame, they could save time and money by simply voting against for not being qualified for the job.
