Yea, I haven't read them yet, but everything seems to point to the GOP being DUMB for pushing their release. That they paint the President in a bad light and bolster parts of the Steele dossier.

DOJ/Special Counsel keeps the memos secret during an investigation for over a year and congress takes an hour to leak them once in their possession

we're quickly getting to the point of desperation.

These guys are weighing the upside and downside of things and increasingly they are taking big risks. That tells me they are desperate and the downside of no action must be very large. That's whY i think Trump will eventually fire Mueller. Eventually he'll get to the point where the downside of inaction is worse than taking the chance of impeachment. I think that time is coming quickly and that's why Mr "up to his eyeballs in this scandal behind the scenes" McConnell refuses to allow a vote on protecting Mueller.

Giuliani, the one guy left who would take the job. Trump hopes Rudy is a better lawyer then husband, but then again that meter is broken. Rudy leave a strong mold smell that he is going to get this thing shut down. There is a whole lot of crazy there.

There are two other former federal prosecutors going the team as well. Jane Serene Raskin and Marty Raskin who have a firm in Florida.

Last one for Friday fun: Trump lied about his net worth to make it onto the Forbes 400 list. An official from the Trump co, John Barron, made the call to Forbes to discuss Trump wealth, and why he should be on the list. Forbes took the bait.

So if you forget, John Barron is Donald Trump, or maybe his alter ego PR man. Double bonus, there are tapes.

I did not think about it when I typed it, but did Don name his kid after his fake PR man? I was thinking that he was making a credibility link to Barron's, the financial magazine, but what happened later?

FWIW, as this was uncovered, the new estimate for Don's wealth is ~$250-300M, which is sort of close to what his father left him. Since no one knows what his debt load is or what his tax returns say, it is hard to establish his worth. Also, the Forbes coverage and finagling his way onto the list is the basis for irresponsible bank loans. Because he would not provide actual documentation as it was "confidential", banks gave him loans based on Forbes reporting.

Good thing the Pubs convinced workers that unions are bad.

Crazy, right. Trump blaming Comey for profiting while Flynn toils, and citing him as an example of Mueller overreach while ignoring that he fired him. Prison awaits Mike.

Problem is that a lot of them were.

Agreed. But we have numerous institutions which have significant failings. Unless one believes those institutions have no worthwhile purpose, the task is to make them better, not abolish them.

You knew the clock was ticking... the alarm finally went off. Trump has expressed concern that Justice Neil Gorsuch is becoming a liberal because, of course, he defied Trumps will with the immigration ruling. Because don wants to be a don, and thinks things work like cheesy movies, one has to assume that he though he bought himself a judge with the appointment, minimally expected loyalty.

If you thought that spineless Ted Cruz will not do anything to extend his political career, all you need to do is check in on his love letter to the great Donald Trump as published as part of Time's 100 most influential people. He lavishes praise on the president clearly thinking that no one could possibly remember his previous public sediments, and, perhaps, more unbelievably he has accepted all those things Don said about Lyin' Ted and his family. What a shit show that guy is.

It's pretty clear that the Trump base and the Republican base are the same thing. If Cruz wants to have a political future as a Republican, he's got to bend the knee.

I think a few Republicans thought they could get through the Trump Presidency and then work to scrub the stain of Trumpism from their tighty whiteys. But it seems pretty clear that isn't going to happen. So those who are seen as opposing Trump have to do things a normal person would find unspeakably humiliating in order to stay in their party's good graces.

Interestingly, polls are showing the race in Texas is somewhat tight. I don't know if sucking up to Trump helps Cruz in Texas, but maybe on the margins it does. Lots of Republicans in Texas don't like Cruz, so maybe he thinks he needs to demonstrate loyalty to the leader of the Republican party to keep them on board.

I wanted to find a picture of cruz in a bib to symbolise his goo gobbling, but all I could find was a bib that said "I am already smarter than Ted Cruz".
