Apparently they consulted with the club pro as well and the pro said their pace was fine and that they were keeping up with the group in front of them.

Cohen to take the 5th ib the stormy matter? I'm not a lawyer, but how can you do that? Civil case and self incrimination?

That said, I can't wrap my head around a situation where police would be called for inconveniencing someone's golf game, whatever their color.

Police are called all the time when people refuse to leave private businesses after being asked to... bars and restaurants are probably the most common. Nobody likes being asked to leave, and it probably feels unfair to most people being asked to leave. When people don't comply, police are sometimes called. That said, it's gotta be very rare on the golf course. This is why I'm judgmental of the owners until some other details emerge.

I'm imagining the dialogue went something like

"You are in violation of terms on your scorecard for playing too slow. Please leave the course."
"That's ridiculous. We got through the front 9 in 1:45, and we offered to have the group behind us play through. They declined since they're drinking."
"I'm sorry, but you need to leave, and we'll be forced to call the police if you don't."
"We deserve to play, and we've done nothing wrong. You'll have to call the police for us to leave."

That's pretty much how I imagine it going too, and having worked many years in retail I'm certainly familiar with people being asked to leave a private business. But in the other circumstances you cite, or I've experienced, it's almost always someone acting in a disorderly manner, or bothering other customers, or being intoxicated, or not using the premises for the purpose intended. I don't have any evidence that any of these were the case, other than stretching "bothering" to include slowing play (which, frankly, occurs every single day when I'm out there.) It just seems so odd in this situation , when you have the club of being able to say "You're either going have to speed it up or remove yourself, or we are going to revoke your membership." They either comply or refuse, and if they refuse, you go ahead and do it. There was no confrontation that I know of until the club owners created one, and no evidence the police were needed-one way or another the players were going to eventually vacate the course. You are right to judge the owners in a bad light.

It's probably sadly relevant that the Dems ran a person who was unwhite also.

Its the Dems fault. check twitter.

FWIW Johnny Isakson was the man to crank the siren first. Trump wants it to be Tester of Montana, who's comments were unnecessarily inflammatory, but this is not a partisan hit job.

What happens next is possible Gov. Perry or the FnF weekend guy. At least Perry has some experience, but put your market on a Fox talking head.

On to Don criminalizing Comey by demanding that classified information was leaked, even though there is no evidences to that matter and it is not known to be being investigated. Also, the retro classification of the memo, I believe, is confidential. That requires management, and care, but it is being conflated to something a lot more by not using specific terms.

JFC, Don called into FNF this morning to paste Tester. Of course when decrying DOC Ronnie's treatment, that's what he called him, he moved on to self aggrandizing.

Its amazing in so many ways including a president who has no press conference calling onto his favorite talk show.

He rolled along to defending Cohen. Has nothing to do with him, but then said that he reps him in "this crazy Stormy Danials deal". Fox actually asked him about his plan to take the 5th. Don said that it is about Cohen's business, it has nothing to do with him. Cohen has a tiny fraction of a percentage of anything to do with Don, according to Don. there is that one way loyalty street. Busses run on that street up to Don, and he pushed another guy in front of one.

Scott Pruitt pushes back hard, saying attacks on him are intended 'to derail the president's agenda'

Where some of this is true in the sense that destroying the environment as the mission of and agenda for the Trump EPA is under attack, mostly the problem at hand is Scott Pruitt's belief that he is above the law as evidenced by his actions.

Dubbed the Make Affordable Housing Work Act, the plan would raise the rent paid by public housing residents to 35 percent from 30 percent of household income and eliminate all deductions that could lower that number. These rents would now be evaluated every three years instead of annually. Elderly and disabled tenants, who constitute more than half of the 4.7 million public housing families, would be exempted.

Carson said the changes are necessary to bring more money into the system and revamp an antiquated model. "The way we calculate the level of assistance to our families is archaic and has perverse consequences, like discouraging these residents from earning more income," Carson said in an interview with The Associated Press. "It's clear from a budget perspective and from a human standpoint that this is not sustainable."

I mean, not sure if he's right in this particular instance, but the idea of programs creating perverse incentives where making more money makes you worse off isn't revolutionary and isn't an indictment on poor people being lazy.
