Saw a ridiculously huge wasp on my balcony tonight. It landed on the wall and climbed up onto the balcony above. Just got around to looking it up and apparently it's a giant asian wasp that has invaded southern Europe, making it to Switz 3 or 4 years ago. The sting is supposed to feel like a nail being driven into your skin and deaths are common. It's also a bee killer, killing up to 50 bees a day. So long, European honeybee.

Not a fan of this wasp.

Really. They've bounced back a bit in areas that have banned neonicotinoid insecticides, but it's bad. It's not just honeybees. Many flying insects are disappearing.

I'm all the way down to only $79,556.95 in student loan debt. Technically I owe more since my step dad is holding me to repaying the money him and my Mom paid to get rid of some Sallie Mae loans.

I'm going to be finished paying off one of my (much smaller subsidized) loans in July, trying to decide if it's better to make more aggressive payments on a loan with a slightly higher rate but smaller balance ( 6.55%, $5.131.00) or the loan with a much high balance and a (slightly)) lower interest rate (6.375 %, $42,007.26).

Or, play chicken and pay the minimum and hope that when the bubble inevitable bursts that the government will side with the consumers and not the giant corporations!
