SPEAKING OF St. Patrick’s Day and mint, a DAIRY QUEEN just opened up near me. I haven’t had Dairy Queen in many, many years. I celebrated today’s holiday with a MINT OREO BLIZZARD. It was...OK.

I do remember drinking going with St. Patrick's Day, but not so many people drining in costume. I have to say now that i heartily appaud it, since previoulsy it was hard to tell who on the street might throw up on your shoes.

Just had a rather interesting experience at lunch. Went to this BBQ place. Been there several times. Great food, but they’ve always had this really weird, a bit creepy military fetishism. Tons of military/gun stuff on the wall, etc. When they give you your food they tell you where to get your “weapons” (forks, knives). Whatever. So today, they stopped playing the music and put on a recording saying, “As we do everyday at noon, please rise for the playing of our national anthem”. So everybody stops what they’re doing and rises for it. Didn’t feel the least bit strange.
