China stomping on the $14B US export of soybeans with its own tariffs has set the market up for another WTF day. Dumb Don the Bad Businessman says "we" are not in a trade war with China.

Oh, that $3B initially reported tariff from China is now moving north of 12.5B (25% tariff increase on $50B).

Don's steaming hot take, it is his incompetent predecessors' faults. This from a guy who has been most successful through bankruptcy. China throws back "Fake News". So by any other name its a trade war, and Donald started it.

Who is getting played in the administration with Russia leading in Syria while we are looking for the exit? Mattis? Russia is carving things up with Turkey and Syria, and there is no representation from the US. So Syria reconstitutes as it was, Russia gets an expanded finger print in the region militarily and political. The US backed rebels have to be terrified, literally. Rather crazy.

If you want to cut the trade deficit you should raise taxes. One big source of the trade deficit is foreigners buying us treasury bonds. Also, if we were paying more taxes, we would have less money to buy foreign imports.

We can hope, cuz she's kind of trashy. I would blame the GOP for not putting up a more sound candidate. I worked at a company a few years ago that had a lobbyist who was thick with her, and while that's part of some businesses, it was a lot over the top with her. For what it's worth, the type of lobbying that was ongoing was one of the reasons I left that job. Eventually the lobbyists got fired because he was on the edge too. As well as being just generally a terrible person.
