We’ve not been super politically active, I’ve voted in all the presidential elections since I’ve been of age and maybe like 60% of the off year elections and runoffs/primaries, but with little conviction until this year. My wife has voted in just the presidential elections and no primaries and was registered as an independent so she couldn’t. In the last six months, she has registered as a democrat and got actively involved in the local elections. I’m really hoping that this is happening all over, people who were apathetic liberals/neutral get active and push back against this #$!&@.

I’m with you although depending on what state you live in giving your opinion to your senator doesn’t matter
I would rather see you lose than win myself

Murkowski voting yes because attached to this bill will be the ability to drill in certain lands in Alaska. It's like her lifelong dream to get that passed. If she votes no, she will never get it.

I have no words for the president of the us endorsing a pedophile and casting doubt on the accusers. Media should just not put him on TV anymore.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

sexual abuse < 'bad on taxes'

sexual abuse < 'liberal'

sexual abuse < The imagined trifecta of: "It’s terrible on crime. It’s terrible on the border. It’s terrible on the military.” especially since Jones has no record.

"Because Alabama" is a cute rallying cry, but seriously there is something seriously rotten in this world. I feel like the DCU multiverse is real and I live in an alternate reality where morals and values are completely void.
Trump doing his part to normalize sexual harassment through his presidency has done the job. Start with him saying he was suing 'all the accusers' who lied about him, then move on to yesterday when he went with the "totally denies it" route. Vile. FWIW, I think I have come around to the idea that More likely wins.

We read before about how Bob Brady's former challenger pleaded guilty to accepting bribes to drop out of the race.

Well golly gee, it's *possible* those people bribing him may have been connected to Bob Brady! the FBI is seeking email communications from Brady's campaign/office

his email address?? BobCongress@aol.com

Lamar Alexander knows the REAL problem in this country:
Alexander: Nobody likes to cut entitlements. But I think the Republican Party should, and always has said, we want to reduce the growth of government, increase the amount of money in your pocketbook, and reduce the federal debt. That, I think, is a winning formula

And the first step to doing that is cutting the amount of money coming in, which means passing this tax bill.

I hate the leg humping winter white house shit that Trump brands in his tweets. As the staff feared, he is on Florida time, so tweet storm category 3 has been going down. Newby LaVar Ball gets a few (seriously Don STFU, there is a country to run), then it is on to greatest hits like kneeling, and Crooked Hillary with a shit ton of self congratulations action. Its been a long 4 years already.

Transgender ban got cut down in MD court. Good article in the WPost about it makes the point that this is the second time a justice has swatted down a Trump EO for lacking any credibility.

Here's the tweet storm referred to above

Donald Trump wrote:It wasn’t the White House, it wasn’t the State Department, it wasn’t father LaVar’s so-called people on the ground in China that got his son out of a long term prison sentence - IT WAS ME. Too bad! LaVar is just a poor man’s version of Don King, but without the hair. Just think../...LaVar, you could have spent the next 5 to 10 years during Thanksgiving with your son in China, but no NBA contract to support you. But remember LaVar, shoplifting is NOT a little thing. It’s a really big deal, especially in China. Ungrateful fool!

He obviously confused Lonzo and LiAngelo, because he's a racist and an idiot.

He's still hurt that he couldn't be an owner. He is literally the family member you don't want to talk to at Thanksgiving.

The ungratefulness is something I’ve never seen before. If you get someone’s son out of prison, he should be grateful to you! Period. I don’t care. If Hillary got my kid out of prison, as much as I hate the woman, I’d thank her corrupt ass!

in real news:

@StevenTDennis
I've spoken to Collins, Murkowski, McCain. Not a one has issued a 100% veto threat against repealing the individual mandate in the tax bill.

@StevenTDennis
Why individual mandate repeal is so enticing for GOP: $300B more tax cuts to sell to voters + helps make corporate tax cuts permanent given Byrd Rule constraints.
Plus can tell base it partially kept ACA repeal promise. Replace, however, would be much harder.

Chances increasing for Senate Tax bill

This is for PA only; they re-convene Dec 4th:

The state House has passed a bill to reauthorize the Children's Health Insurance Program, which covers kids from families who make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but can't afford other insurance.

The routine bill became controversial this year, because the Senate inserted language that would have prohibited CHIP from covering transgender kids' transition surgeries.

The House axed that provision; now the bill returns to the Senate.

The deadline for reauthorization is the end of the year.

But that doesn't mean the issue of whether CHIP should pay for gender confirmation surgery is resolved.

"A separate bill will be running that will deal with the issue of gender identity," Reed said.

That bill already passed the House Health Committee, and now awaits a floor vote.

It would prohibit CHIP and Medicaid from covering transition surgeries, related drugs, or counseling.

Tom Carper told a story that Trump called Cohn from Asia to chat. The call was going on 15 minutes when Carper suggested to Cohn that tell Trump that he is brilliant, but the connection was pretty bad, then get off the call... which he did.

I'm seriously getting burned out on this nonsense. When one side is willing to throw away morality and the other side tries to play by the rules, there's no way the latter side is going to win in the long run. It's a built in advantage, an ace up the sleeve.

I mean, almost half the country is starting to think it's a good idea to support a pedophile. People who are supposed to be our moral leaders are literally protecting a pedophile. The GOP will be able to do whatever it wants after that. It will create so much cognitive dissonance that these assholes will support anything the GOp does. Anything.
Agnostic dyslexic insomniacs lay awake all night wondering if there is a Dog.
