Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will tell his U.S. counterpart to “lay off” if he raises the issue of human rights when the two men meet in person later this week.
“You want to ask a question, I’ll give you an answer. Lay off. That is not your business. That is my business. I take care of my country and I will nurture my country to health,” Duterte told reporters on Wednesday, according to a Reuters report.

I don't know, we just had a two-term Democratic president; it's pretty hard to follow that up with another term by the same party. I imagine 'Bernie could've won', but we'll never know and it would've been razor-thin regardless, IMO.

Four other races were so close that they qualify for a recount, and the outcome will determine control of the chamber. The results marked the most sweeping shift in control of the legislature since Reconstruction.
Democrats snared at least 15 seats in an upset that stunned members of both parties and arrived with national implications.

It would be nice if Feinstein helped the process rather then run.

The Democratic legislation would ban the sale, production and transfer of military-style assault weapons, with some exceptions, though owners would be able to keep existing weapons. It would also ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
The bill would require a background check on any future trade or sale of an assault weapon covered by the legislation, require any guns grandfathered under the bill to be securely stored and prohibit transferring high-capacity magazines.

We have seen far too many administration officials play fast and loose with ethics rules. Former HHS Secretary Tom Price resigned from office after it was revealed he spent over $1 million in taxpayer funds for travel on private and military jets. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has also found taxpayer-funded private travel to be preferable to commercial flights. This problem is apparently so pervasive that now White House chief of staff John Kelly must approve all travel on government “owned, rented, leased, or chartered” aircraft.
