The Roem/Marshall race was always going to be tight this year. I'm surprised that it was under the radar for you... it was definitely as high profile as a House of Delegates race ever gets, which isn't saying very much.
I live in the 87th, so my focus is in getting John Bell to do something. I guess it is hard between representing the enemy northern part of the state, and being a freshman, but the only things he managed to get through where honorarium votes. If he was not running against Subba Kolla, he might have been tossed. Kolla was something between uninspiring and #$!&@ show, except for speaking to a very large minority population in the district.

Its an interesting area. There was a lot of Northam support, based on seeing yard signs when I was hiking, East of the blue ridge but the 'other side of the mountain' I would bet is a lot more red. Richmond will know a lot better, but I do not see that district flipping. Blacksburg and Charolettesville are not in this district.

On Monday, as the Department of Homeland Security prepared to extend the residency permits of tens of thousands of Honduran immigrants living in the United States, White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly called Acting Secretary Elaine Duke to pressure her to expel them, according to current and former administration officials.
Duke refused to reverse her decision and was angered by what she felt was a politically driven intrusion by Kelly and Tom Bossert, the White House homeland security adviser, who also called her about the matter, according to officials with knowledge of Monday’s events, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.
As DHS officials prepared to make that announcement, Kelly made an urgent call from Japan, where he was traveling with President Trump. He was “irritated,” administration officials said, and didn’t want his handpicked nominee for DHS Secretary, Kirstjen M. Nielsen, to face potentially uncomfortable questions about TPS during her confirmation hearing.
Kelly brought Nielsen to the White House to be his deputy, and she earned a reputation as a disciplinarian, with unwavering loyalty to the former Marine Corps general.
He noted that although it was difficult for Americans to imagine life in a communist country, it was not up to the United States to “pass judgment” on the foreign regime.
“I think working with people no matter who they are is better than not talking to them,” Kelly said. “They have a system of government that has apparently worked for the Chinese people.”

doesn't look that good
A Democratic member of the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity filed suit against the commission in federal court in Washington, D.C. on Thursday morning, alleging that its Republican leadership has intentionally excluded him from deliberations and violated federal transparency laws. The commission has been sued more times (eight, including the new filing) than it has officially convened for meetings (two times).

1. Refuses to debate Jones
2. News that he was removed from 1990s divorce case because he barred lesbian from seeing her children unsupervised
3. Accused of initiating sexual contact with a 14 year old when he was 32.
Aside from Corfman (slugs note: this is the aforementioned 14 year old), three other women interviewed by The Washington Post in recent weeks say Moore pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s, episodes they say they found flattering at the time, but troubling as they got older. None of the women say that Moore forced them into any sort of relationship or sexual contact.
