I don't think "half the country is starting to think its a good idea support a pedophile" is even remotely accurate. A ton of prominent Republicans have denounced the guy. However at this point National Republicans continuing to call press conferences and issue statements denouncing Roy Moore is counter-productive to the goal of actually defeating the guy because it just froths up the voters in Alabama against "Mitch McConnell and the Establishment Republicans". Trump and Kellyanne Conway are not half the country. Or close.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. But since the number is still far greater than it should be, I decided against making that point myself. We'll see what Alabamans think; it's there where he's least unpopular, so it will be interesting to see what percentage of the vote he gets. 40% feels crazy high, but who knows where sentiment will shift right before the election? Polls for Trump in mid October were looking quite grim...

In MB's defense, I think he might have heard the poll question that said something like 49% of GOP voters think if Moore is elected that Senate should vote to expel him. That Poll also had a total figure of 60% for explosion.

A very key element is exactly what we explored here, which is if Alabama elects this detestable cracker, then it is the peoples will. More over, there is concern that when explosion occurs you might not be able to get that genie back in the bottle with some of thse political hacks.

My reason to bring this up is I heard this, perhaps on NPR, but it was presented in such a way that it was hard to put the pieces together when the very next thing was Trump fanatically defending Moore's denial about a dozen times before he got on the chopper.

In other things half heard, I am pretty sure that there was a report that Trump is thinking of stumping for Moore! The report was that his staff does not want him anywhere near that dumpster fire, but Trump's base is fired up for him to be politically incorrect! You can smell where this is headed. See you in Bama Donnie.

Got it. I understand the genesis of his comment. I am troubled by the expulsion issue. I do think the will of the voters means something. On the other hand Senate expulsion proceedings exist for a reason and always involve defeating the voters will in some fashion.

BSG thought experiement, pretend you're an Alabama voter, and everything was the same about the Alabama Senate race except the allegations had come out about Jones rather than Moore, how would you vote on December 12th?

Is Moore still a huge bigot, or is everything flipped?

If everything is flipped, I probably vote for the Republican. If Moore is still a huge bigot, I write in <insert Democratic Luther Strange>.

Assuming that I would have the same stance on issues that I do now, despite living in Alabama, I'd probably skip the election. I'd be unable to support either of them.

What a stupid thought experiment.

If I were a born and breed Alabama voter I would drone into the voter booth with virtually no idea who was running, find the republican, and pull the lever.

Could argue in utilizing your moral compass you decide Jones's behavior decades ago, while abhorrent, would still be less bad in the US Senate than Moore's current views and resulting voting record.

Not voting is also a choice.

The Trump Organization is ending its licensing deal with the Trump SoHo hotel in New York amid reports that the property has struggled to attract business.

The company owned by President Donald Trump says that it has signed a deal with the hotel’s owners to end management of the property and the use of the Trump name. The announcement comes as the company’s other hotels and resorts around the world are showing mixed results.

The Trump Organization doesn’t own the Trump SoHo, as is the case with many Trump-branded properties.

The Trump Organization says it has struck a buyout deal with CIM Group and other owners that will allow it end its management and licensing agreement by the end of the year. The Trump SoHo also offers condominiums for purchase.
