Yeah, I know it's not accurate, but I appreciate WFO's explanation as to why. And I can't say when I learned it, certainly not until my 20s.

That said, I can't imagine a situation where it would cause any harm as long the wood is actually to industry standard. I certainly always buy extra knowing I'm going to screw something up along the way.
