With 99.45% of ballots counted, the "Yes" campaign had won 51.37% and "No" 48.63%, and the electoral board called victory for "Yes".
Erdogan supporters say replacing the parliamentary system with an executive presidency will modernise the country.
Turkey's two main opposition parties said they would challenge the results.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) demanded a recount of 60% of votes. They criticised a decision to accept unstamped ballot papers as valid unless proven otherwise.

the stamp is the way you know the ballot is valid. it's pretty brazen shit.

Many Turks already fear growing authoritarianism in their country, where tens of thousands of people have been arrested, and at least 100,000 sacked or suspended from their jobs, since a coup attempt last July.
The campaign unfolded under a state of emergency imposed in the wake of the failed coup.

Mr Erdogan assumed the presidency, meant to be a largely ceremonial position, in 2014 after more than a decade as prime minister.

he also wants to bring back the death penalty now, something all civilized nations do (hi!).

Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisconsin) defended his vote on allowing ISPs to sell our browsing history w/o consent :

“You know, nobody’s got to use the internet…. I don’t think it’s my job to tell you that you cannot get advertising through your information being sold. My job, I think, is to tell you that you have the opportunity to do it and then you take it upon yourself to make the choice….”

the internet is optional, folks

the solution to companies such as Google being allowed to do this and ISPs not is surely to allow the ISPs to also do this! There is no other possible solution. None.

our president:
So much of this is new to Mr. Trump that only after he publicly accused Mr. Obama of having wiretapped his telephones last year did he ask aides how the system of obtaining eavesdropping warrants from a special foreign intelligence court worked.

The Export-Import Bank, which helps finance purchases of American exports, is a telling example. During the campaign, Mr. Trump sided with conservatives who wanted to eliminate it because the government should not finance large corporations and effectively pick winners and losers in a free-market economy. But on Wednesday, Mr. Trump embraced the bank.

“I was very much opposed to Ex-Im Bank because I said what do we need that for IBM and General Electric,” he told The Wall Street Journal. “It turns out that, first of all, lots of small companies will really be helped, the vendor companies. But also maybe more importantly, other countries give” such aid, and so “we lose a tremendous amount of business.”

“After listening for 10 minutes, I realized that it’s not so easy,” Mr. Trump said. “You know, I felt pretty strongly that they had a tremendous power over” North Korea, he added. “But it’s not what you would think.”

Who knew?!

"The first 90 days of my presidency has exposed the total failure of the last eight years of foreign policy!" So true. @foxandfriends

i think he quoted his own appearance on Fox and Friends and then said 'so true' after it. he agrees with himself.

also, he's spent 2 hours this morning watching cable news.

the book is just some anti-democrats book:
But flip through a few chapters and you'll quickly notice that all 266 pages — wait for it — are completely blank.

Get it? There ARE no reasons to vote for Democrats — ba dum tss!

To be clear, this lines up with what we know about DjT's reading habits. I am sure it was the first book he made it through in over 25 years.

Trump has now spent 18 days at a golf course since becoming president 13 weeks ago, which is 18 times more than Obama had played at the same point in his presidency.

How hard will it be for people to admit that they were suckered? My experience in TrumpLand is that the red tide that rose up to carry him to Mar-a-lago are a stubborn lot without any compunction for admitting fault or foolishness. How much more loss will it take? How far down the rungs of the ladder will they need to be thrown? There is seemingly an unwillingness to recognize what is happening before their very eyes, either blaming whoever (democrat) or hanging on to a wait & see that seems completely unlikely.

Is our Korean strategy really just 'don't push him/he's crazy/we don't know what Trump will do'? Seriously, is has there ever been a more crazy modern world leader Kim Jong Un?

i dont think Kim is crazy in the way you mean; he seems pretty sane with what he's doing as far as acquiring nuclear weapons. it's the only way he can remain in power.
