Watched Michael Clayton for the first time since it came out. That's a fantastic movie

If you want to watch the disaster artist, you should watch The Room first. The DA is about the making of The Room, one of the most truly horrible films ever made. It's so bad that it's kinda good.

Wind River is really terrific. That 30 minute climax is mesmerizing. It's on Netflix. Watch it asap

Yeah, some parts got me pretty bad. It was very Iannucci.

I really want to see this.

Finally got around to seeing Phantom Thread.

Strange, strange film beautifully composed and shot. Held my interest throughout, despite not really much of a plot.

Saw on IMDB that Christopher Nolan has written a screenplay for a remake of Memento...

It's at the top of his writer credits

Hostiles was too uneven. Didn't make what it wanted to be. Beautiful cinematography though. Bale is great.

I think the previous writer gets credited in a remake so I’m hoping that’s what this is

I just finished up my The-Shining-Palooza. First the book. Then the sequel book ("Doctor Sleep"). Then the 1997 miniseries "Stephen King's The Shining". Then the same miniseries with the commentary from King, the director, some of the cast (including Steve Weber of 'Wings' fame), and select crew. Then to wrap it all up: Stanley Kubrick's 1980 movie. And my big takeaway? Kubrick's movie is WAAAAYYY overrated. I had avoided it it all these years because it didn't appear very interesting from all the clips I'd seen (and I avoided the book for the same reason). Now I know the miniseries, having double the time to work with, could explain more, but even aside from Kubrick's changes, it doesn't really do much in the way of suspense or even horror.

(Yeah I know I said a lot of that before)

I felt the same way about PT. I liked it more after the movie than I did during it, if that makes sense. I needed to digest it a bit.

Shot Caller is incredible. One of the best prison movies I've ever seen. It's on prime. Watch it asap
